This might be a hot take but itās my take.
Be careful who you get your information from. Personal trainers go through the education to become a trainer.
Some people might act as trainers & give you information but ensure they are a trainer and not just a person getting things from the internet. Yes, some trainers get information from the internet but myself speaking, I do researcher to ensure the information I get is correct before I share with others.
Another thing we do as trainers- we do consults with people prior to creating any plan for them. These consults should include prior injuries/ health risks, goals & habits, and etc. getting specific information allows us trainers to incorporate movements that not only helps you meet your goals but it also incorporates movements that help with any previous injuries or risks.
Needless to say- I had my ACL fully reconstructed years ago. Lately, Iāve had things going on with my knee. In this case one of three things I have to do at this point.
1: pt
2: have surgery to shave down my patella
3: have surgery to scrape cartilage out
These are my ONLY options right now!!! To avoid surgery, I chose PT.
Iāve had a handful of people tell me,ā you just need to stretch , just need to do calisthenics, you just need to lift like this.ā Excuse you. I know my body, I know my knowledge & I appreciate your words but at the same time, You arenāt my coach and you havenāt had a consult with me. YOU DO NOT KNOW ME.
Thatās the entire point of consults! SO WE KNOW YOU AND GET TO KNOW YOU!!
Just. Be. Careful. Where. You. Get. Your. Info.
