Eastland Rifle and Pistol Club - S***t Shoot

When:
Starting at 10am, ending when we’re done shooting.

5 Stand Match:
The Eastland Rifle and Pistol Club will be opening its s***t range 5 stand s***t shooting. 5 Stand is a fun and challenging shotgun sport. It consists of sporting clays type targets thrown from machines arranged around a field. Targets come from various directions, angles and distances as you progress through each of
the 5 consecutive stands..
If you’ve never shot 5 stand – don’t let that stop you! One or more Range Assistants will be there to give you a hand and guide you through the rules, nuances, and etiquette of the game. Our Range Assistants are passionate about the shotgun sports and eager to help everyone break targets, break more targets, and safely have fun shooting!

You Need to Bring:
A shotgun (unloaded and remain unloaded until told to load and make ready by Range Assistant)
Shotgun shells (7-1/2, 8, or 9 shot only)
Ear and Eye Protection (mandatory)
More shells (no one can stop a just one round)
Friends with shotguns, shells, and the other stuff
OK, so you don’t have to bring friends, but s***t is a social game so it’s always great to have friends shooting with you. And don’t discount the likelihood of wives, girlfriends, sisters, sons, and daughters wanting to give s***t a try. Shooting sports are great for everyone.

You Also Need to Bring:
$7 per round for members; $10 per round for non-members
(member pricing will extend to spouse and any children under 18 years of age only)
Signed liability waivers will need to be signed by all participants and kept on file for 6 months to be used for returning shooters.
Non-shooters are welcome to attend, but must stay away from any active shooting range and will be required to sign liability waiver.
Minors will need a parent or guardian present at all times and have a signed waiver by parent or guardian.
The Club Will Provide:
Targets, Machines, Range Assistants
Gun Racks, Shade, Benches
A safe and enjoyable experience

Access:
The Ringling Lake Road gate at the North end of County Road 536, as well as the gun range gate will have a special event "BLUE" lock for member and non-member access during the s***t shooting hours. Event code is 1950 using the "BLUE" locks. Reminder that the granting of access is ONLY for s***t range access. DO NOT use this gate access to gain unauthorized access or use of Ringling Lake or other properties. These locks will be removed after the s***t shoot is completed. Gates MUST be closed and locked after you pass through. Please also be sue to replace the lock in the same place on the chain of locks, do not skip any links. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE: Non-Members may participate in the S***t Shoot, but will not have access to the general range for other shooting. Memberships are always available and may be purchased at the range during the S***t Shoot if greater access to the range is desired.

SPECIAL REMINDER:
NO SHOTGUN / SHOTGUN LOAD use is permitted on the front ranges / shooting lanes.
Any use of shotguns or fi****ms that discharge a shotgun load on the front range may result in immediate termination of your membership and removal from the range.
We have a new patterning board built and in use at the Trap & S***t Range. In the future we will explore an actual "Shotgun Lane" for general shotgun targets.

Did someone say Wobble Trap. Yes, our S***t Range has a lot to offer from High and Low House S***t Shooting, 5-Stand, and yes even Wobble Trap (we can also turn off the wobble). So come join us on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.

I also need to give a special thanks to Michael and Russel for their countless hours and efforts to bring this range and the systems back to life. They not only make everything work, they are also your humble ROs that run each match and coach shooters so they can better enjoy the time on the range. Thank you both (and Janice for all her help as well). We would not have this without you.

As you can see the Pistol Range has been rebuilt and looking great. Let's keep it this way.

PLEASE NOTE: The red areas are NO SHOOT ZONES. This is where the support frame is and when shot up the whole backboard will start to fall apart. We understand missed shots and such will hit these areas, but target placement and aiming should not happen in these areas. This includes NO TARGETS / CANS / SHIMS / ETC are to be set ON TOP OF the backboards.

Your club leadership board made this happen. Between Treasurer Daniel getting deals on the materials, Secretary Erik assisting the weekend prior breaking down the destroyed backboard and a temp fix on the remaining backboard, to yesterday when VP Don and I (Thom) spent 4 hours rebuilding and cleaning the range. I only bring this up to remind you that in addition to normal lives we volunteer our time to make this range something nice for our members and community to enjoy. All we ask is that you also take some pride in our range and respect the rules and clean up after yourselves.

Future shotgun use will result in penalties or revocation of memberships. This will be enforced going forward. We have a S***t Range down the road that includes a manual thrower and patterning board. Again, please pick up after yourselves, including your shotgun shells and any targets (Not Clays) you setup and shoot.

S***t shooting is a shotgun shooting game of 25 flying targets shot from 8 stations arranged around a semi-circular layout. It is relatively easy to learn, humbling at times, but always a lot of fun.

ERPC CLUB UPDATE Tuesday Sept 8, 2026

1. The locks were changed this morning as we start the 2026 - 2027 Membership Season. If you have not renewed, please visit I20 Pawn or contact us to renew digitally with Venmo.

2. We are down (1) Backboard on the Pistol Range. Sadly some members / visitors do not understand "NO SHOTGUN USE ON THE FRONT RANGE". The left backboard was shot-out so bad it could not be refreshed and will require a full rebuild. We found numerous fresh shotgun shells on the ground and fresh empty boxes in the trash. We will try to get a volunteer team together in the next week to rebuild this range. Going forward we will assess a penalty / damage fee to anyone caught shooting shotgun loads on the front range and / or revoke membership. This is unacceptable damage that impacts the greater membership, let alone the time and cost to repair. We have a Shotgun range that can be used for these activities. Thank you for your adhering to this policy.

3. Speaking of the Shotgun range, Russell and Michael will host our regular s***t match this Saturday Sept 12 at 10am. We will send more updates later this week about this match.

The pic attached is current state of the Pistol Range. If anyone wants to help volunteer Saturday morning to rebuild it please let us know. Thank you.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT -

As the new Fiscal year has started (Sept 1st) this also means membership renewals and access code changes. If you have not renewed your membership please do so ASAP to maintain access.

As a courtesy and to not disrupt current members from accessing the range during the Holiday weekend we are giving a grace period before locks are changed.

The ERPC Locks on the Main Ringling Lake Gate AND the Club Gate will be changing effective Monday September 7th at 7PM.

Emails will be sent earlier that day to all active / renewed (2026 - 2027) members with the new gate code. Please check your spam / junk folders and be sure to accept emails from talontactics.com.

If you do not receive an email you can contact us at [email protected] or send a message here using Facebook Messenger. Please include your name and email when sending us a message so we can validate your membership and update our records if needed.

If you have not renewed yet, the quickest way is to go to I20 Pawn and renew there with cash or check. You can also renew / join via email & Venmo payment, but this option may have delays in response time. If you prefer this option please email us at [email protected].

Please remember the board is a volunteer group and have real lives and jobs, so response times may vary. We make every effort to reply within 24 to 48 hours and if you are lucky we may answer or respond even quicker.

Starting Tuesday morning you will need the new code, so if you do not have it please do not try to access the range. We will not be able to validate or provide access info on-demand and your plans may be impacted.
