WHAT A DAY!

The 2026 CLYC Fishing Derby – Reel & Fry was a HUGE SUCCESS!

Thank you to everyone who fished, volunteered, cooked, cleaned, helped behind the scenes, or just came down to enjoy the fish fry!

🏆 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 CHAMPIONS – TEAM SPENCE!

Dan & Terai Spence, Cameron Spence & Dale White

Team Spence finished with 21.5 lbs. of walleye to capture the championship, cash prize, and the CLYC Fishing Derby Cup, which will be proudly displayed in the clubhouse!

1️⃣ Spence – 21.5 lbs.
2️⃣ Washburn – 16.9 lbs.
3️⃣ Lajoie & Mullen (TIED) – 16.625 lbs.
4️⃣ Turk – 16.5 lbs.
5️⃣ Tizzano – 16.17 lbs.
6️⃣ Troxell – 16.12 lbs.
7️⃣ Connell – 12.9 lbs.
8️⃣ Hemrich – 1.2 lbs.

Team Spence ran away with the championship, but behind them it was CLOSE — less than ONE POUND separated 2nd through 7th place!

🌊 Lake Erie cooperated and gave us a good day to get out and fish…although a few anglers may have learned that Lake Erie still gets the final say. No names please. LOL. 🤢🤮😂

Thank you Bill Opalich for getting up early to get everyone checked in and handling the official weigh in of all the fish.

And most importantly, THANK YOU to all of our anglers for providing the walleye and to all of our CLYC members who came down and enjoyed the fish fry!

We were worrie if we would have enough fish. Not only did we have enough fish, but we were able to increase the portion size per dinner, invited everyone back for 2nd's and 3rd's, fed staff in restaurant and bar, and had to go boxes.
