The tournament has been deemed “one of the most amazing success stories on the PGA TOUR” according to past PGA TOUR commissioner, Tim Finchem. What is so amazing about the John Deere Classic? Withstanding multiple changes in location and title sponsors, it is unlike other small-market events and has managed to thrive as a community-based, charity-oriented tournament. In fact, it consistently ranks as #1 on TOUR in per capita giving and was named “PGA TOUR – Tournament of the Year” in 2016. The mission of the John Deere Classic, a non-for-profit corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will contribute positively to the quality of life in our community. The John Deere Classic also strives to provide growing annual financial contributions to charities in our area, as well as promote volunteerism. Through the golf tournament and various tournament programs, our main goal is to provide a positive economic impact to the community.

Congratulations to Team Illinois, this year's Giving Cup Champion!

Over the last 14 days, you rallied your friends, shared, made donations, challenged one another, and showed incredible pride for our community.

And in the process, you raised an astonishing $81,835 for the Bonus Fund, including nearly $20,000 in the final day alone.

Final Team Standings
🏆 Team Illinois: $44,805.01
🏆 Team Iowa: $37,029.99

But the truth is, this was never really about Illinois versus Iowa.

It was about proving what's possible when people come together for something bigger than themselves.

Every dollar raised will help increase support for local nonprofits that are changing lives, solving problems, and strengthening our communities every single day. That's something every donor, advocate, and supporter should be proud of.

The race for The Giving Cup is heating up, and the finish line is just around the corner (September 10). Beyond the bragging rights, five lucky donors from the winning state’s team will score Fairway Club passes to the 2027 John Deere Classic, one of the best ways to enjoy tournament week and the exclusive Sunday night concert!
