As EGC Youth Baseball moves to Cal Ripken, we will be utilizing the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken age chart to make fall and spring teams moving forward. Please be aware that your player’s age may change from what they have been based on the age chart.

The Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken age chart for 2026 is available at https://www.baberuthleague.org/league-resources/baseball-age-chart. We will share the 2027 age chart when it is published.

⚾ FALL BALL IS ALMOST HERE! ⚾

The EGCYBL Rec Fall Baseball season kicks off Tuesday of next week and we couldn't be more excited! 🍂

Here's when your little slugger will be taking the field:

📅 Monday – Ages 7-8 (First game 9/14)
📅 Tuesday – Ages 4–6
📅 Wednesday – Ages 11+
📅 Thursday – Ages 9–10

All ages listed are baseball ages.

👀 Keep an eye out — your child's coach will be reaching out soon with exact game times and field locations!

⚾ CALLING ALL POTENTIAL COACHES! ⚾

Fall rec baseball needs volunteer coaches for:
🔹 7 & 8 year old teams
🔹 9 & 10 year old teams

Our program runs on volunteers like you — without coaches, we can't give these kids a season to play.

We're finalizing the fall logistics now, but we need coaches in place first. Once we have volunteers, we can finish building teams and get all the info out to families by this weekend!

⚾️ A Little Piece of EGC History, Buried for the Future ⚾️

As EGCYBL begins its transition to Cal Ripken and Major Field gets a whole new look, we wanted to leave something behind to remember where we came from.

Beneath the future pitching mound, we buried a time capsule containing pieces of the final 2026 Little League season:

✍️ And a special note to whoever finds it someday

Years from now, when Major Field is changed again, we hope someone discovers it and gets a glimpse into the kids, memories, and traditions that made EGC baseball special.

The fields will change. The league will grow. New generations will take the field. But the memories made here will always be part of EGC. ❤️⚾️

🚧 Progress is Being Made at Major Field! ⚾

Our Major Field transformation is well underway as we continue converting the facility into a brand-new Cal Ripken 50/70 field.

It's exciting to watch the vision begin to take shape. While it may not look like a baseball field just yet, every day brings us one step closer to creating an incredible playing surface for our athletes and families to enjoy for years to come.

This project represents a major step forward for EGCYBL and our transition to Cal Ripken Baseball. We can't wait to see the finished product and welcome our players onto their new home field.

Please remember that the field remains closed during construction. For everyone's safety, we ask that all players and community members stay off the field until the project is complete.

www.baberuthleague.org Cal Ripken – Any player born prior to May 1, 2022 and on or after May 1, 2013 will be eligible for Cal Ripken Baseball League competition.Any player that turns 4 years old in the months of May, June, July, and August born in 2022 is eligible to participate in the Cal Ripken T-Ball Division.

🚧 Major Field Closure & Field Conversion Update

As part of our exciting transition from Little League to Cal Ripken Baseball, Major Field is officially closed as we begin a complete field conversion and several long-overdue improvements.

Over the next two months, the field will undergo significant work to prepare it for the future of baseball in our community. We kindly ask all players, families, neighbors, and community members to stay off the field and construction area during this time.

This closure is important for two reasons:

Safety – Heavy equipment and construction crews will be on site throughout the project.

Protecting the New Field – Newly graded surfaces, clay, grass, and other improvements need time to settle and establish properly.

We know everyone is excited to see the finished product, and we can't wait to unveil a field that will serve our players for years to come. Your patience and cooperation will help ensure this project is completed safely and successfully.
