Today the Mustangs hosted the league tournament and all 16 were competing. The Mustangs posted another 2nd place finish that was close until the last two holes. Carston Johnson led the Mustangs with an even par 2nd place finish. There were 100 golfers total today. Next was Hudson Blake who tied for 9th, he was followed by Maddex Reynolds, River Guerrero, Joseph Diaz, Tavin Fehseke, Owen Engle, Tyson Bills, Nic Carnes, Silas Speicher, Karson Koch, Damian Hosier, Freddy Garcia, Cole Koch, Jeryko Reyes and Steven Fieber. The season is winding down with only a few more tournaments left.

Today was a bitter sweet day. Finished tied for first again, different tie breaker and another loss in a playoff. We did not play our best today but was in position to get a team win. Carston Johnson led the Mustangs with a 3rd place finish, Hudson Blake with a 5th place, Maddex Reynolds placed 9th and River Guerrero. Next up our home league tournament on Monday.

The varsity was also in Sterling at Sky Ranch Golf Course. We have not hit our peak but were able to place 2nd out of 25 teams. Carston Johnson placed 3rd, Hudson Blake placed 5th, River Guerrero and Maddex Reynolds tied for 25th out of 99 golfers. We keep moving up the rankings as the season is starting to wind down. Your Mustangs currently sit as the 13th ranked team in 4A and 68 schools.

Today will be broken up into two posts. There was a JV tournament in Sterling that had two teams for the Mustangs. The first team finished 8th out of 23 while the second finished 18th. The Mustangs were led by Tyson Bills with a 12th place finish. He was followed by Damian Hosier, Karson Koch, Silas Speicher, Steven Fieber, Owen Engle and Cole Koch.

Your Mustangs should be making you proud with a third place team finish and another single digit above par score. The Mustangs finished 9 over par as a team. I was trying to stay out of the way and didn’t get Carston’s picture today. Carston lead the way with a 73 and a 7th place finish. He was followed by Maddex Reynolds with a 75 and a 13th place finish. Hudson Blake shot 77 for a 16th place finish, and River Guerrero had an off day and shot a 89 and 63rd place. The Mustangs had a second team that finished 27th. They were led by Joseph Diaz and followed by Nic Carnes, Tavin Fehseke and Karson Koch. There were 32 teams in the tournament and 128 golfers. Today was a big moving day up the rankings.

This is later than I thought, I had to do some research. The Mustangs finished tied for first today with Riverdale Ridge. After a tie breaker, the Mustangs were second, with a final score of 218 which is 5 over par for our top three golfers. Looking back at the past tournaments from 2014, this was the lowest team score by 16 strokes. Hudson Blake was 1 under par with a 70 and tied for 3rd, Carston Johnson shot even par 71 and tied for 5th. River Guerrero shot a personal best of 77 and a 14 place finish, Maddex Reynolds rounded out the Mustangs and shot 83 for 32nd place. There were 23 teams and 102 golfers. Great day to be a Mustang!
