The weather might be gloomy but the football team is adding a smile to the students morning with their weekly High Five Friday!

The football players got their morning fuel at “breakfast with the Coaches”. They made their own waffle bowls filled with their choice of toppings to add a little fun to the meal. Coach Lyle also served some home raised FFA/4H pork. The art Studio sure looks full when you fill it up with a team of high school boys. Good luck tonight Raiders.

Getting ready for the weekend football game starts long before Friday night. The coaches and players aren’t the only ones working hard. Check out the photos of the field prep by our school maintenance man, Mike. He sets up the robot to layout the field and logo. This week the paint wasn’t feeding correctly so Mike got out what he called “old reliable” and walked the field to paint the lines and numbers. Fortunately the robot was able to put the outline of the logo down and Pat volunteered to spray the colors on to complete the design. It all takes time even when the robots working. The logo alone, after it’s been laid out, takes about 3 hours and 15 cans of spray paint to fill in. It’s anywhere from 8 to 10 hours from start to finish for the whole field. I’ll post a couple of the robot videos in the comments. It’s pretty fun to see it doing its thing. Mike also sets up the East Buchanan football field so he’s a busy guy. If you see him, thank him for his time and energy to keep our school grounds looking great.
