Thank you WDIO for helping to spread the word! Hockey for everyone is possible if we all come together as a community! With our outdoor rinks and new programs like Learn to Play and Skate for all ages AND the new no travel recreation League for 10U/ Squirts, we are able to offer everyone a chance to get in the ice!

The Duluth Amateur Hockey Association and Learn to Play Hockey Duluth hosted a free gear swap at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center on Sunday, aiming to give every athlete the chance to play hockey.

Thanks again to all of the wonderful donors and partners! We fitted at LEAST 2 dozen players and quite a few goalies.

If anyone needs help with equipment please check with your local outdoor rink, DAHA, or email [email protected]!

If you have gear to donate, we'll have a drop box at Fryberger arena soon!

Head, shoulders, knees and toes! Thanks to many community donors and Wild Gives Back, we have a little bit of something for everyone!

A half hour has passed and over a dozen people have already gotten gear for the upcoming season!

All equipment donated will be available for public pick up at the Gear Swap event on 9/13 from 2-4pm . The remaining gear will be used for participants of the Learn to Play Hockey program for all ages.

Two drop-off sites are in the lobby at and from June 1st to September 12th.

We heard and listened ... ALL AGES can sign up for the Learn to Skate now!

Get ready for your new team, league or neighborhood outdoor rink!

Open to all children between the ages 4-10 (as of September 20, 2026) residing within ISD 709/City of Duluth boundaries who are new to skating and have never played organized hockey.

Whether you are introducing your toddler to the ice or stepping out yourself as an adult, the Duluth Figure Skating Club has a spot for you!

For Beginners & Tots: Classes specifically designed for young kids starting with Snowplow Tots through Basic levels.
For Kids and Teens: we offer Basic 1–6 & Freeskate core fundamentals, edge work, and turns to master the ice.
For Adults: Dedicated adult sessions, it’s never too early or too late to learn!

Ready to Level Up? Already loving the ice? Talk to your LTS coach about Academy Program prerequisites to take your technique to the next level.
