Afghan PRM Afghan Peace and Reform Movement The need for peace and bringing all Afghans together to help solve the common problems faced is paramount.

Over the past thirty years Afghanistan and the Afghan people have suffered the destructive consequences of two major invasions and a series of civil wars. The calls for peace are becoming louder and more frequent from all corners. The Afghan Peace and Reform Movement (AfghanPRM) was established on April 18, 2010 by Afghan intellectuals and professions and their friends in the Diaspora as an organization campaigning for peace. The members of AfghanPRM feel the requirements for structural changes and reform in the performance of many areas in Afghanistan are also needed for short term stability and long term security and development of the Afghan economy, and for the functions of the public and private institutions in Afghanistan. In all these areas organizing human and material resources of Afghanistan and Afghan communities in the Diaspora for assistance to Afghanistan, as well as, the continued assistance of the international community are needed. It is our hope that the establishment of peace will not bring the abandonment of Afghanistan and the Afghan people, as in the past when the Soviet army retreated in 1989 and the problems of Afghanistan were neglected by the international community. Members of AfghanPRM will actively engage their professional and personal resources for the goals of achieving peace and reforms outlined in a series of proposals presented on our web site. Contacts and discussions with political leaders in the US and elsewhere including private organizations working for peace and reform in Afghanistan will be widened.
