🇺🇸 RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT: VETERANS BRIDGE HOME 🇺🇸

Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be challenging. Finding employment, securing housing, navigating VA benefits, accessing healthcare, or simply finding a sense of purpose and community can feel overwhelming.

That’s where Veterans Bridge Home comes in.

Veterans Bridge Home connects veterans, service members, and their families with the resources and support they need to build a successful life after the military. Their network provides assistance with **employment, housing, healthcare, financial assistance, community connection, and navigating VA benefits.**

What makes Veterans Bridge Home unique is their **“no wrong door” approach.** They welcome veterans regardless of service era, discharge status, or disability level—and even help veterans outside of the Carolinas connect with appropriate resources.

Their approach is built around **C.A.R.E.S.:
🔹 Connect – Meet veterans where they are
🔹 Assess – Understand their individual needs
🔹 Respond – Connect them with the right resources
🔹 Empower – Advocate for their opportunities
🔹 Sustain – Support long-term success

Founded in Charlotte in 2011 after a Special Forces veteran and his wife stepped in to help a veteran in crisis, Veterans Bridge Home has grown into a network serving thousands of veterans each year.

If you’re a veteran who doesn’t know where to start, start here. Sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing who to call.

DID YOU KNOW…?

⚰️ Did you know eligible Veterans may receive a government-furnished headstone or marker at no cost?

The VA can provide a headstone, grave marker, or medallion*for eligible Veterans, regardless of whether they're buried in a national cemetery, state Veterans cemetery, or certain private cemeteries.

For Veterans buried in private cemeteries, the benefit generally covers the government-furnished marker itself—not the cost of the cemetery, installation, or other burial expenses.

It's one of those benefits that most people don't think about until they need it.

Honoring those who served doesn't stop when the uniform comes off. 🇺🇸

WEDNESDAY REMINDER 🇺🇸

Nobody really prepares you for the day you stop being needed.

For years, you had a purpose.

You had a place to be.
People counting on you.
A mission to accomplish.
A uniform that told the world exactly who you were.

Then one day, you turn it in.

And the world keeps moving.

No more formations.
No more early morning accountability.
No more knowing exactly what tomorrow is supposed to look like.

Suddenly, you're expected to figure out who you are without the title, the rank, the mission, or the people who stood beside you.

And sometimes that's the hardest part.

Because the person who came home from deployment, training, or years of service isn't necessarily the same person who left.

If you've ever felt lost after service, you are not broken.

If you've struggled to find your purpose again, you are not alone.

And if nobody has told you lately:

You still matter.

Your service mattered.
Your experiences matter.
Your story matters.

You don't have to have everything figured out today.

Sometimes the next mission is simply learning how to live for yourself again.

DID YOU KNOW…?

🚗 Did you know some Veterans may qualify for a VA automobile allowance?

If you have certain qualifying service-connected disabilities that affect your ability to drive, the VA may provide a **one-time payment toward the purchase of an automobile or other transportation**.

There are also situations where the VA may provide or assist with adaptive equipment to help an eligible Veteran operate a vehicle.

It's a benefit many Veterans may never hear about because eligibility depends on the specific service-connected disability and VA requirements.

Sometimes a benefit isn't about a check—it's about helping you maintain your independence. 🇺🇸

RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT: UNITED ASSOCIATION VETERANS IN PIPING (UA VIP)

Brief Summary

The United Association Veterans in Piping (UA VIP) Program provides free, accelerated career training to transitioning military service members in skilled trades such as welding, HVAC-R, and fire suppression. The program helps service members turn their military experience into a pathway toward a long-term civilian career.

Leaving the military doesn't mean leaving behind the skills you've spent years developing.

Leadership. Discipline. Working under pressure. Following technical procedures. Working with your hands.

The UA VIP Program was created to help transitioning service members turn those skills into a career in the skilled trades.

Through approximately 118 days of accelerated training, participants can receive industry-recognized certifications and a pathway into United Association apprenticeship opportunities. Training is currently offered in:

🔧 **Welding**
❄️ **HVAC-R**
🔥 **Fire Suppression**

The program is available at participating military installations across the country, including locations such as Camp Pendleton, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Fort Carson, Fort Hood, Camp Lejeune, Fort Campbell, and Naval Station Norfolk.

One of the biggest advantages?

The training is provided at no cost to participating service members. UA VIP graduates have gone on to careers throughout the United Association's network of plumbers, pipefitters, welders, sprinkler fitters, and service technicians.

⚠️ Important: UA VIP is specifically designed for active-duty service members who are preparing to transition out of the military. Veterans who have already separated can explore other apprenticeship opportunities through the United Association.

Your military career gave you skills.

UA VIP can help you turn those skills into a career for your next chapter.

Some carry experiences they rarely talk about.
The uniform may come off, but the experiences, lessons, and memories stay with you.

DID YOU KNOW…?

💼 Did you know Veterans with a service-connected disability may qualify for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) benefits?

VR&E isn't just about finding a job. For eligible Veterans, the program can provide support with career planning, job training, education, resume assistance, and help transitioning into suitable employment.

Depending on your individual situation and eligibility, VR&E may help you build the skills and experience needed for a new career or make your current career more sustainable.

If you're a Veteran looking for a career change or struggling to find work that fits your circumstances, VR&E may be a benefit worth exploring.

Sometimes your next mission just needs a different direction. 🇺🇸

When you join the military, you lose who you once were. Your sense of humor changes, your mannerisms, how you communicate, how you walk, quite literally everything about you is different.

You're trained that way.

The hardest part about transitioning out of the military is reintegrating back into civilian life. No one understands your sense of humor or why you have to be 15 minutes early everywhere you go. No one understands how your brain was altered during your time in the military.

Veterans often find themselves wondering "can I do this?". We reflect on our time in the military often as some of the best and worst time of our lives.

You are not alone. This is a struggle that every veteran faces, but it does not need to stay that way, you can find yourself again.

You have too.

Not the person you were before the military.
But the person you were meant to become after it.
The uniform may come off, but your purpose never does.

DID YOU KNOW…?

🇺🇸 Did you know some Veterans can use VA health care even if they don't have a service-connected disability?

Eligibility for VA health care isn't limited only to Veterans with service-connected conditions. Depending on factors such as service history, discharge status, and other eligibility requirements, Veterans may qualify for VA health care benefits.

So if you’ve never looked into VA health care because you don’t have a service-connected disability, it may still be worth checking your eligibility!

You served. Make sure you know what benefits you may have earned.
