🦅 DWC 2026 BANQUET: CELEBRATING THE GRIND 🦁
We traded the singlets and headgear for a chance to come together as a family and celebrate an incredible season of Dinwiddie Wrestling Club.

From the first practice in "The Pit" to the final whistle, these athletes have put in the work that most people aren't willing to do. We gathered to recognize every wrestler for their effort, their growth, and the grit they showed on the mats this year.

🏆 SPECIAL RECOGNITION & AWARDS 🏆
While every wrestler who stepped into the circle this year earned our respect, we handed out several awards to athletes who truly went above and beyond in their performance, leadership, and technical development.

Whether it was hitting those peek outs and bars in the heat of a match or showing the mental toughness to bounce back after a tough loss, these award winners embodied the DWC Standard.

To the Parents: Thank you for the early mornings, the long drives, and for trusting us with your kids. You are the backbone of this club.

To the Wrestlers: The trophies and medals are great, but the discipline you’ve built is what stays with you forever. Some of you are taking a well-deserved break, and some of you are already asking when the mats are open again. Either way—stay hungry.

The off-season is where the gap is closed. We're already looking forward to what's next for DWC! 🔨🥇

🏆 THE GRIND PAID OFF: DWC BIG KIDS RECAP 🏆

Our Novice, School Boy, and Cadet wrestlers hit the mats for their end-of-season tournament this past weekend, and they put an exclamation point on a season of hard work!

As these athletes move into the older divisions, the matches get tougher, the scrambles get longer, and the margin for error gets smaller. We asked them to stay disciplined, stick to the technique we've been drilling in the Pit, and fight for every inch. They did exactly that.

🥇 THE CHAMPIONS 🥇
A massive congratulations to our four hammers who climbed to the top of the podium:

Floyd
Kayleigh
Brennan
Luke A.

Whether they walked away with a medal or a "lesson learned," every one of our wrestlers showed up and left it all on the mat. We saw kids fighting hard, hitting clean transitions, and supporting their teammates from the edge of the circle. That’s the DWC way.

Coaching this group is a privilege. Watching them develop not just as wrestlers, but as disciplined young men and women, is why we do what we do.

The season might be officially over for some, but for those looking to reach the next level, the Pit is always open. The off-season is where champions are truly made. 🔨🦁

🏆 END OF SEASON RECAP 🦁

What a way to close out the year! This past Sunday, March 1st, our younger hammers—the P*e Wees, Bantams, and Intermediates—stepped onto the mats for their end-of-year tournament, and they absolutely showed out.

We preach "leaving it all on the mats," and every single DWC wrestler did exactly that. The grit, the sportsmanship, and the technique we saw this weekend were a direct result of the hours spent grinding in the Pit.

🥇 THE CHAMPIONS 🥇
A massive shoutout to our four tournament champions who fought their way to the top of the podium:

Eliseo
Ezra
Levi
Drayke

Beyond the hardware, we are incredibly proud of every wrestler who competed. For many, this was a season of firsts—first takedowns, first pins, and first times overcoming the nerves of a big tournament. Seeing their confidence grow from the first practice in November to this final whistle in March is the real "win" for us as coaches.

Thank you to the parents for your dedication to the sport and the club. We’re building a foundation here in Dinwiddie that is second to none.

The season might be wrapping up for the little guys, but the work never stops. See you back on the mats! 🔨💪

🦁 DWC SUNDAY SQUAD: LEAGUE RECAP 2/22 🦁
The Dinwiddie Wrestling Club was back in action this past Sunday, and the improvement from week to week is undeniable.

From start to finish, the grit, the technique, and the "never-quit" attitude were on full display.

What stood out this weekend:

🔥 Technical Ex*****on: Seeing the kids hit the setups and finishes we've been working on was incredible.

💪 Mat Presence: Our wrestlers are controlling the pace and dictating the ties.

🤝 The DWC Family: The support from the stands and the way our kids back each other up makes all the difference.

We always tell the team: "The mats don't give you what you want; they give you what you earn." Every one of these athletes earned their growth this weekend through hard work and heart.

We’re incredibly proud of the effort.

Back to work this week. We’ve got more to do! 🔨🏆

📈 TRUST THE PROCESS: SKILL OVER SCOREBOARD 🦁
At Dinwiddie Wrestling Club, we tell our athletes all the time: We aren’t coaching for the win today; we’re coaching for the wrestler you’ll become tomorrow.

This past Sunday, Eliseo put on a clinic in what "buying into the system" looks like. We’ve been grinding on specific technical chains in the Pit lately—specifically, peek-outs from the bottom and bars on top.

In the heat of a live match, it’s easy to revert to "playground wrestling" just to survive. But Eliseo stayed disciplined. He went out there and executed a textbook peek-out and worked his bars exactly how we’ve been drilling them.

As coaches, this is our biggest win. We aren't concerned with the win-loss column right now; we are looking for skill development. When a young athlete stops worrying about the hand-raise and starts focusing on executing high-level technique, that’s when the real growth happens.

The wins? Those are just a byproduct. Once the skills become second nature, the scoreboard takes care of itself.

Keep climbing, Eliseo. The work is showing! 🔨💪

🦁 DWC SHOWED OUT TODAY! 🦁
The Dinwiddie Wrestling Club hit the league event today, and man, did our wrestlers deliver!

From our youngest rookies stepping onto the mat during their first season to our experienced hammers, the effort was 100% from the first whistle to the last. We didn't just show up; we competed with heart, stayed technical, and represented the Dinwiddie with class.

The highlights from today:

🔥 Pure Grit: Seeing our kids fight off their backs and push through third-period fatigue.

📈 Growth: Watching the moves we’ve been drilling in practice transition perfectly into live matches.

🤝 Brotherhood: The way this team cheers for one another is what makes DWC special.

Winning is great, but seeing these kids embrace the grind and give everything they have on the mats is the real victory. Whether they walked away with a hand raised or a lesson learned, they all got better today.

Huge thanks to the parents for the early morning and the incredible support in the stands. We’re building something special here in Dinwiddie! 🔨🏆

🏆 MCDONOGH OPEN RECAP: DWC BRINGS HOME THE GOLD 🥇

Big Saturday for Dinwiddie Wrestling Club! We took three hammers up to the McDonogh Open, and they represented the Dinwiddie with everything they had.

A massive shoutout to Ezra for a dominant performance, taking 1st Place and bringing some hardware back to Dinwiddie! 🏆🥇

Beyond the medals, this weekend was about the work. We took away some invaluable lessons on the mat that are going to fuel our training in the "Pit” all week.
Whether we win or we learn, we’re always getting better.

Proud of the grit, the heart, and the technique these boys showed. We’re just getting started. 🦁🔨
