The Northern Wrestling family is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Michael “Mokes” Davies.

Mike was a longtime supporter of Northern athletics, and we were incredibly grateful for his support of our wrestling program this year as a Gold Sponsor. We were also fortunate to have Mike join us at our recent golf outing, and we are thankful for the opportunity to have shared some time with him.

More than his support of our program, Mike was a husband, father, friend, and valued member of our community. His loss will be felt by so many.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike’s wife, his children, and the entire Davies family during this incredibly difficult time.

Northern Football is deeply saddened by the untimely death of former football standout and supporter of our program, Michael “Mokes” Davies. The Northern Wrestling family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bec Rees.

We ask everyone in our wrestling community to please keep the entire Rees family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Tyler and Adam were both standout wrestlers in the Northern Wrestling program, and the Rees family has remained a tremendous supporter of Northern Wrestling throughout the years. Families like the Rees family are a special part of what makes our program more than just a wrestling team. They are part of our Northern Wrestling family.

Our hearts are with Tyler, Adam, the entire Rees family, and everyone who knew and loved Bec.

What an incredible day for Northern Wrestling!

We cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who helped make this year’s Northern Wrestling Golf Outing our biggest and best yet.

To our amazing sponsors, your generosity and continued support of our wrestlers and program means more than you know.

To our volunteers, thank you for giving your time, working behind the scenes, and doing all of the little things that made the day run so smoothly.

And to all of our golfers, thank you for showing up, having a great time, and supporting Northern Wrestling. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!

But the impact of this outing goes far beyond one great day on the golf course.

When you walk into our wrestling room this season, you’re going to see an updated room with new paint, signage, wall pads and improvements that give our wrestlers a room we can all be VERY proud of. And we’re not finished yet. More program upgrades are coming in the near future!

Events like this and the incredible people who support them are what make these things possible.

Every sponsorship. Every golfer. Every auction bid. Every raffle ticket. Every donation. Every volunteer hour.

It all goes back into our kids and the Northern Wrestling program.

As we get closer to wrestling season, the excitement is building. There are so many great things happening with Northern Wrestling, from our youth program through junior high and varsity, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what’s ahead.

Yesterday, one of our own shared news that none of us wanted to hear.

After nearly a year of clear scans following his battle with testicular cancer, Brandon Bucher learned that his cancer has returned and spread to the lymphatic system in his abdomen. The months ahead will include chemotherapy and potentially additional surgery.

Brandon, we want you, Summer, and your entire family to know one thing:

YOU WILL NOT FIGHT THIS ALONE.

Brandon is so much more than a coach in our wrestling room. He is a Northern Wrestling alumnus, a Northern Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, a volunteer assistant coach, a mentor to our wrestlers, and most importantly, a member of our wrestling family.

Anyone who has been around wrestling knows that when one of your own is in a fight, you show up.

And Brandon, there is an ARMY OF PURPLE ready to show up for you. 💜

The same wrestling community you have given so much of yourself to is now standing firmly in your corner. Your wrestlers, fellow coaches, alumni, parents, families, friends, and the entire Northern Wrestling community are behind you and the Bucher family every step of the way.

There will be difficult days ahead, but there will also be an incredible amount of love, prayer, encouragement, and support surrounding you.

Brandon, we loves you. We love your family. We are praying for you, fighting alongside you, and we’ll be here for whatever you need during the months ahead.
