Accomplishments in the Showring!!!
A few of our amazing gymnasts did an amazing job this past week at the Fair!
Vivian showcased 7 chickens and 1 cockerel, achieving 2nd place in her meat bird pen. She triumphed in her showmanship class for chickens and subsequently competed against all 1st- and 2nd-place winners (a total of 12) to secure the title of reserve champion overall. This remarkable achievement also granted her the opportunity to participate in the sweepstakes, the highest honor available. Competing against 21 other children, Vivian successfully showed every animal in the barn, mastering the art of presenting beef, dairy feeders, beef feeders, goats, rabbits, cavies, pigs, and sheep. She earned participation ribbons for her efforts, marking a significant accomplishment for anyone, especially an 11-year-old.
Vanessa exhibited 3 chickens and 2 lambs, earning 8th place in showmanship for her chicken out of 13 competitors, and achieved 4th place in showmanship for her lamb.
Valleri presented 2 chickens and 2 lambs, finishing 5th out of 13 for her chicken and also claiming 5th place in showmanship for her lamb.
Way to go Ladies!!!!
