Man, what a performance from Amaré.

He fought hard from the opening bell, kept the pressure on, and proved once again that he belongs in that ring.

Big respect to his opponent and his team. Every matchup at this tournament was a challenge, and this one was no different.

What I appreciate most about Amaré, though, has very little to do with fighting.

He’s a leader around the academy. He’s someone the younger kids look up to, and he’s the same person at school and in every other area of life.

Talented, humble, and hardworking.

He’s the kind of young man every coach hopes to have in their program.

Really proud of him.

👊 Two-Piece Elise 👊

What a battle.

Huge props to our opponent and her team. We thought the fight might be over after the eight count in round one, but she came back firing and made this a phenomenal matchup.

As for Elise, she did exactly what we asked her to do. She trusted her boxing, listened in the corner, and showcased exactly what that Waffle House style is all about.

But here’s the coolest part.

Over the last year, we’ve watched her grow into so much more than a competitor.

She’s become a role model, a leader, and someone the younger kids genuinely love being around.

Around here, she’s Coach Chicken.

That might be my favorite title she has.

I’m incredibly proud of the athlete she’s becoming, but I’m even more proud of the person she’s becoming.

That’s what we’re really building here.

Max is the new Junior Boys Class B Bantamweight Champion!

What a fight!

Both fighters looked great in there, and it was a battle from start to finish. Max’s opponent wanted to clinch, but Max did a great job making adjustments and sticking to the game plan. He found success with his teep and heavy left hand, which kept creating openings throughout the fight.

When they did end up in the clinch, Max consistently shut it down by getting his hips in and dumping his opponent to the ground over and over.

Hats off to both fighters and everything that went into making this one of the best fights of the weekend!

People love to celebrate the wins.

But as a coach, these are often the moments that tell me the most about a person.

Jackson Wilson fought a tough opponent today at the TBA Muay Thai World Classic, and we didn’t get the outcome we wanted.

That’s fighting.

You put your hard work on display, you take risks, and sometimes things don’t go your way.

But here’s what I know…

This kid has heart.

Because almost immediately afterward, his mind wasn’t on what happened. It was on what comes next.

That’s the stuff you can’t teach.

Anybody can smile when things are going well.

Character shows up when they aren’t.

Extremely proud of this young man. The growth is there. The future is there.

Now we get back to work.

Lochlan is the new Junior Boys NHS Welterweight Champion!

What a performance. Lochlan worked harder than anyone in the gym during this camp, and it paid off.

He looked incredible out there, putting together great combinations that set up some devastating low kicks.His clinch work was also outstanding!

We’re so proud of Lochlan
