8 weeks with baby #4 and somehow weâre already starting to come out of that teeny tiny newborn haze đ„č
His sleep is definitely starting to shift, and Iâm slowly making little changes right along with him. Nothing rigid, nothing perfect⊠just paying attention to what heâs ready for and adjusting as we go.
And honestly, thatâs such a big part of baby sleep. What worked a few weeks ago wonât always be what they need next.
But every babyâs next step looks different depending on their age and stage. Comment QUIZ and Iâll send you âWhatâs My Babyâs Next Sleep Stepâ so you know exactly what to focus on for yours.
If youâre new here, hi! Iâm Natalie, mom of 4 + pediatric sleep consultant sharing real mom life and helping you navigate baby sleep without all the overwhelm or rigid rules. If you want better sleep while still responding to and supporting your baby, youâre in the right place. đ€

Feel like youâre trying everything but your babyâs sleep still isnât improving?
Mama, I get it, youâre running on fumes, Googling at 2am, and just want someone to tell you what to actually do, for YOUR baby.
Over and over with exhausted moms, I see the same thing. They need a clear plan, not more information.
Iâve helped hundreds of families improve their babyâs sleep through a gentle, responsive approach that doesnât require choosing between sleep and connection.
So I built a free quiz, âWhatâs My Babyâs Next Sleep Step,â that tells you exactly where to start based on your babyâs age and whatâs actually going on. No more guessing, no more sifting through conflicting advice. đ
If you want to stop guessing and finally have a starting point, comment âQUIZâ and Iâll send it your way.

If your baby has been refusing feeds, napping unpredictably, waking more often, taking short naps, or suddenly fighting sleep⊠itâs not always the dreaded 4-month sleep regression.
Between about 3â5 months, your baby is going through a BIG developmental shift. Sleep cycles are maturing, theyâre becoming more aware of the world around them, and feeding can suddenly feel different too.
This is usually where I tell parents not to change everything at once. Iâm looking first at the basics: full feeds, age-appropriate wake time, bedtime timing, sleep environment, and how baby is falling asleep.
Hereâs what this stage can look like:
đ Short naps: 30â45 minute naps can become really common as sleep cycles mature. If every nap is short, Iâm also looking at timing and sleep pressure.
đ Frequent night wakings: More mature sleep means more transitions between sleep cycles. Gently helping your baby learn to fall asleep independently can make a big difference here.
đ Distracted feeding: Suddenly the ceiling fan is the most interesting thing in the room đ
. Protecting full daytime feeds can help keep those extra calories from shifting overnight.
You donât have to just wait for this phase to pass. There are gentle, responsive ways to support your babyâs sleep without having to resort to CIO.

I used to think struggling with my babyâs sleep was just part of becoming a mom. Iâd spend so much time wondering if I was doing something wrong, Googling wake windows, schedules, naps, night wakings⊠and getting completely different advice everywhere I looked.
And now I know I definitely wasnât the only one, because I hear the same thing from moms every single day.
But when you really think about itâŠ
Thatâs exhausting.
Motherhood already asks SO much of us. And then weâre somehow expected to function on broken sleep while also figuring out exactly what our baby needs with a million different opinions coming at us.
I just donât think moms should have to live in survival mode simply because they have a baby.
And Iâm no different from you.
I didnât become a mom knowing everything about baby sleep. I started learning about it because I desperately wanted answers for my own family.
I wanted to understand WHY sleep felt so hard and how I could help my babies sleep better without feeling like I had to ignore my instincts as their mom.
And honestly, thatâs a huge part of why I do what I do now.
Iâm a mom of four, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and the founder of Sleep Like a Mama. And now I get to help other moms understand their babyâs sleep, teach independent sleep skills, and get more predictable nights and naps without throwing responsiveness out the window.
Itâs also why I created my SLM 7 Method, to take all the noise and conflicting advice and give moms a clear, step-by-step way to approach sleep that actually makes sense for THEIR baby and family.
Because I truly believe you can want your baby to sleep AND want to be there for them.
You donât have to choose.
So if youâre exhausted, overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice, and just want someone to tell you what actually makes sense for YOUR babyâŠ
Youâre exactly who Iâm here for. đ€

Anyone else feel like their baby suddenly got way fussier around 6â8 weeks?! Itâs actually such a normal developmental phase, so if youâre in it too, hang in there mama. đ€
Iâll keep sharing what weâre doing, whatâs working for us, and what weâre changing as he grows.
