Huge congratulations to student Makena Barnes on her promotion from the Pre-Professional Division to .ballet Studio Company Dancer! 🩰✨

Makena, originally from Granite Bay, CA, started dancing when she was just 2 years old. In May she performed the role of "Lilac Fairy" in the Colorado Ballet Academy's end-of-year performance of "The Sleeping Beauty." She is so excited to continue growing as a dancer and to continue the next chapter of her career in Studio Company.

Selected through a competitive audition process, Studio Company dancers train directly alongside the Professional Company, gaining essential experience in a professional environment as they pursue careers in dance.

Huge congratulations to student Juliana Petrie on her promotion from the Pre-Professional Division to .ballet Studio Company Dancer! 🩰✨

Juliana started dancing when she was 5 years old. She joined Colorado Ballet Academy as a Pre-Professional in 2022 and was a Trainee for the 2025/26 season. Her dream roles include Juliet and Odette/Odile. She has danced Snow in Colorado Ballet's "The Nutcracker" and recently performed as Aurora in the academy's end-of-year performance of "The Sleeping Beauty."

Kaelyn has been a dedicated member of the CBA family since 2017, shining in academy roles like Big Swan in "Swan Lake" and Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty," alongside performing in numerous company productions. After joining the Pre-Professional Division in 2022 and becoming a Trainee in 2025, she is thrilled to take this next major step for the 2026/2027 season.
