DON’T LET NECK PAIN RIDE ALONG 🚴
You’ve trained your legs. You’ve tuned your bike. But there’s one area many cyclists overlook until it starts complaining: your neck.
Spending hours in a forward-leaning cycling position can put significant strain on your neck, shoulders, and upper back, potentially leading to stiffness, soreness, headaches, or even numbness and tingling in the arms or hands.
The good news? Many cycling-related neck issues can be prevented with the right preparation.
Before the Denver Century Ride, consider:
• Getting your bike fit checked
• Strengthening your upper back, shoulders, and core
• Gradually practicing your race position on longer rides
• Paying attention to pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness
The Denver Century Ride is a test of endurance, not a test of how much discomfort you can tolerate. Ride smart, prepare early, and keep your eyes on the finish line.
At CommonSpirit Health, Sports Medicine specialists and services are dedicated to helping cyclists prepare for race day.

FUEL YOUR RIDE WITH ’S SUN BARS 🚴♂️🌞
Great energy starts with great ingredients. Tom’s Sun Bars were founded on a simple idea: an energy bar should be made with ingredients you’d recognize from your own kitchen, not a laboratory.
Made in Colorado, each bar combines ground flaxseed, whole grain oats, almond butter, molasses, and tart cherries to create a delicious source of sustained energy for the gym, the trail, or your next ride.
At the heart of every bar is ground flaxseed, providing more than 2 grams of ALA Omega-3 fatty acids per bar.

🚴 Four Courses for Four Experiences
Is the 50-Mile Route for You?
Looking for a ride that's challenging enough to leave you smiling at the finish line, but still leaves plenty of energy for the Post-Ride Street Party?
The 49.6-mile CommonSpirit Denver Century Ride might be just right.
With nearly 2,000 feet of climbing, the 50-mile route is our most popular intermediate distance. It offers an unforgettable tour through some of Denver's most iconic neighborhoods, parks, and trails, making it a great choice for cyclists ready to step up from shorter rides or experienced riders looking for a rewarding half-century experience.
Along the way, you'll ride through the heart of downtown Denver, past Union Station and Empower Field, follow the South Platte River on a scenic bike path, and continue through Ruby Hill, Englewood, Cherry Hills Village, and Central Park before returning to the finish at Northfield.
With fully supported aid stations, excellent course support, and thousands of fellow cyclists alongside you, the 50-mile route delivers plenty of challenge without requiring you to empty the tank.
It's long enough to feel like a real accomplishment, yet approachable for riders who have been building their fitness throughout the summer.
Challenge. Scenery. Camaraderie. A finish-line celebration.
The 50-mile ride brings it all together.

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO FEEL HOT TO BE A RISK. ☀️🚴
Colorado’s mild summer weather can make for beautiful riding, but don’t let a comfortable forecast fool you. Heat illness can happen even when it doesn’t feel hot.
As you prepare for your final long rides before the Denver Century Ride, know the warning signs and how to protect yourself. Stay hydrated, dress appropriately, listen to your body, cool down when needed, and know when it’s time to stop.
Your goal is to cross the finish line feeling strong, not end up in the med tent.
Spin Doctor is here to help you ride smarter and stay safe. Read the full guide before your next long ride:

85 MILES. BIG VIEWS. LESS CLIMBING. 🚴♀️🏔️
Is the 85 Mile Ride your sweet spot?
You’ll get the best of the Denver Century Ride experience without taking on the full challenge of Lookout Mountain. The 85-mile route delivers 84.2 miles of scenic riding, with nearly 3,900 feet of elevation and some of the most spectacular sights around the Denver metro area.
Ride through Downtown Denver, Golden, Dinosaur Ridge, Morrison, Red Rocks, Bear Creek Lake Park, Deer Creek Canyon, and more before making your way back to Northfield.
It’s still a serious ride, but with 2,104 fewer feet of climbing than the full century, it’s a rewarding option for riders who want the distance, the adventure, and the views without quite as much mountain goat business. 🐐
Think 85 might be your number?
