This week’s fight study highlights how great Muay Thai defense doesn’t always mean slipping and weaving like boxing.
In this bout, Chatchai Paiseetong (blue shorts) shows how to shut down a punch-heavy opponent using classic Muay Thai fundamentals: a tight guard, smart footwork, and perfectly timed counters. Instead of trading punches, he absorbs or parries shots, takes a small step out of range, and answers with kicks and clean scoring strikes. It’s a great example for students because it shows how patience, balance, and timing can neutralize pressure without needing flashy movement. Full fight is linked in stories.
