Canât blame your husband for this oneâŚđ¤Ą
Itâs easy to point fingers đ and put the blame on someone else.
Itâs harder to confront YOURSELF and take some accountability for actions (or inactions) that led you to here.
Every week my fitness coaching clients do a âself auditâ đ
It highlights what areas theyâre doing well in, consistently hitting the goals â
and what areas they have room for improvement or missed the mark â
If they missed the mark, we ask them to tell us WHY - what happened?
And most answers go something like this:
âMy husband wanted to eat outâ
âWe were running errands and my kids wanted fast foodâ
âMy in-laws stopped by and brought dessertâ
On the surface, these seem like situations that are OUTSIDE of your control đ¤ˇââď¸
Wasnât your fault, so you get a free pass! Right??
đŁď¸Your goals donât care whose fault it was!!
But it ultimately, YOU are responsible for your choices and the outcomes that result from it.
Hubby wants to eat out? đ âI didnât set clear enough boundaries around eating out & I need to communicate that I need a heads up to plan for eating out excursions.â
OR âI didnât make a smart choice from the restaurant menu, I knew I could fit something into my remaining goals, but I chose not to order mindfullyâ
Kids wanted fast food? đ âI didnât pack snacks/a meal for myself, and let myself get hangry and made a poor decision in the drive thruâ
In-laws brought dessert? đ âI didnât say âno thank youâ or uphold my own boundariesâ
â ď¸ NOW JUST TO BE CLEAR â ď¸ I am NOT saying you canât eat out, get fast food, or enjoy dessert.
But what I AM saying, is enjoying those things have a time & place!
On a fitness journey, that means planning for those things. Anticipating potential pitfalls and having back up options in place.
Not having a free-for-all and then blaming it on someone else.

âI didnât just push through⌠I redefined who I am on this planet.â
Cara wasnât new to hard work. Sheâd stacked hours in the gym, chased macros, and juggled a life that never seemed to pause. Sheâd tried every hype-y promise, every âmiracleâ plan, and every start-over Monday. Yet the scale stubbornly hovered, her energy crashed, and the voice in her head kept whispering: youâre not built for this.
Then it clicked: a system that respects the grind but finally gives it a real, sustainable home. Not a shortcut. A manifesto she could live by, day after day, even when the day didnât go as planned.
What happened next wasnât a pep talk or a gimmick. It was a complete reboot of how she trained, ate, and showed up for herself.
đĽ A brutal, honest plan that fits a real life, no fake perfection, just real progress.
đĽ Training that builds muscle and stamina without burning her out or chasing endless âdays off.â
đĽ Nutrition that fuels performance, speeds recovery, and never makes her feel deprived or shamed.
đĽ A mindset shift that turns excuses into action and excuses into evidence of whatâs possible.
In weeks, her clothes started telling the truth before the scale did. She wasnât just leaner or stronger; she was magnetically present; at home, at work, with friends ... because she finally HAD energy again.
She stopped apologizing for wanting more for herself and started demanding it. She stopped chasing a version of herself that didnât exist and started owning the version sheâs always deserved to be.
The results exploded beyond numbers: a relentless consistency, a fearless approach to days that used to derail her, and a confidence so loud it changed how she carried herself in every room.
If youâre on your journey but feel like youâre barely clinging to momentum, or youâve built a great routine but itâs not translating to life-changing results ⌠comment âCOACHINGâ below and say YES to something that actually sticks.

âI didnât just lose weight⌠I found myself again.â
Adrienne is a momma to twins, and like so many women, somewhere between taking care of everyone else, keeping up with life, and trying to âdo it allâ⌠she stopped recognizing herself.
Not just physically. Emotionally too.
She spent years putting herself last. Trying to squeeze workouts in when she could. Starting over every Monday. Feeling frustrated because no matter how hard she tried, nothing felt sustainable.
The hardest part wasnât even the weight; it was feeling like she had completely lost HER in the process.
What changed for Adrienne wasnât some extreme diet or unrealistic routine.
đĽWe taught her how to finally prioritize herself without guilt. đĽHow to carve out time each day that was hers.
đĽHow to fuel her body with food that supported her goals instead of constantly restricting herself.
đĽAnd how to follow a structured weight training plan that gave her confidence again.
Little by little, things started changing. Not just physically, but mentally too.
She stopped chasing perfection. She stopped punishing herself with all-or-nothing thinking, and she stopped feeling like fitness had to take over her entire life to work.
The results speak for themselves! The love handles melted away, her body changed in all the right ways and her confidence came back.
But more importantly⌠She found herself again.
That version of her that had been buried underneath exhaustion, frustration, and constantly putting herself last.
And THAT is the kind of transformation that lasts.

âIâve probably struggled my ENTIRE LIFE with being fitâŚâ
That was one of the first things Melissa said when she reached out to us.
She wasnât lazy, and she definitely wasnât new to working hard.
She grew up playing sports, worked physically demanding jobs, and had spent years in and out of the gym trying to âfigure it all out.â
But no matter how hard she tried⌠it always felt like she was missing something.
Melissa also carried years of frustration from losing weight in unhealthy ways before ... barely eating, constantly starting over, and feeling like she had to be perfect to see results.
But when she joined FTA, things finally started to click.
For the first time, she had structure, guidance, and a plan that actually felt sustainable instead of confusing.
Since joining FTA, Melissa has gone from 170 lbs to 137 lbs.
But the biggest transformation wasnât just the weight she lostâŚ
It was the confidence she built, the knowledge she gained, and finally learning how to fuel her body without starving herself.
Sheâs built muscle, routines, and most importantly⌠consistency. â¤ď¸
Melissa is proof of what can happen when you stop trying to do it all alone.
If youâre tired of working hard but still feeling stuckâŚ

What I Eat in a Day - DATE NIGHT edition đĽĄ
Being successful in a fitness journey doesnât mean depriving yourself of experiences & never eating out again.
It means learning how to create balance with what you eat AT home, and how you order at restaurants.
1ď¸âŁPROTEIN FRONT LOAD THE DAY đ
Start your day with high protein, lower carb/fat meals to make sure youâre hitting your protein goals, while still leaving room to enjoy later đĽĄ
2ď¸âŁPLAN YOUR ORDER
đsearch the restaurant menu in advance and plan out your order. I use ChatGPT to help me estimate the calorie & macro values, and I even make adjustments to the meals if needed. (No cheese, sauce on the side, extra chicken, etc)
3ď¸âŁSKIP THE EXTRAS
one meal is not difficult to track & fit into your day. Itâs the appetizers, desserts, & beverages that really start to add up đˇ
4ď¸âŁLEFTOVERS
ask for a box to come out WITH the meal, and set 1/2 of it to the side. Youâre more likely to over eat and finish the plate if itâs still in front of you. (đââď¸Iâm a clean plate girly so I WILL keep going even if Iâm already full)
5ď¸âŁTAKEOUT/ORDER IN
Get the same food you love from the restaurant, but bring it home and add your own extra proteins to it. Last night we went to a friendâs house for game night. I ordered my favorite entree, but I brought extra shrimp with me from home to add more protein to the meal! đ¤
And at the end of the day, remember that this is a SKILL youâre learning that will take PRACTICE to master. Donât get discouraged if you donât get it right the first time.
Keep refining your planning skills & youâll be well on your way to enjoying date night stress-free AND sticking with your fitness goals!
