Well fans, things didn't work out so well for the WHISKEY in Spring Ball, leaving some ground to be made up in the summer season. Feeling optimistic about the upcoming Summer season, WHISKEY suffered a setback over the past weekend as reports trickled in that left fielder Bradley Halm was involved in a freak frisbee accident. X-rays confirmed a broken collar bone and Halm will miss the remainder of the season following a forthcoming surgery. Halm was transferred to the 60-day DL retroactive to Thursday, 5/26. His roster spot remains vacated and no announcements have been made as to who will get the call-up. "This only serves to highlight and underscore our need for a farm system", Jason Lippa, former skipper of Whiskey said. "With so many kids moving into this town we need to be taking advantage of Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There's enough days and leagues to create low-A, A, AA and AAA clubs to develop the talent we need to be competitive." Bill Dabney, current skipper released Lippa's comments as "Unnecessarily elaborate and over the top." Said Dabney, "It's a blow to lose a good player like Brad but he'll be back. We'll take this thing one week at a time - there's no need to hit the panic button. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve." The summer season for WHISKEY begins this Wednesday, June 1st against That 1 Team, first pitch is at 7:30 PM. The remainder of the summer schedule can be found below:
