'When I was a little boy, five or six years old, Primo Carnera was heavyweight champion. I used to hear my father and all of his old Italian buddies talking about Primo Carnera all the time. I got interested and my brothers got interested, so we used to put just plain gloves on, regular gloves that you wear, and we'd put them on and box. Then one time my father went to Albany with a load of onions and he come back with a set of boxing gloves for us and we used to box all the time. We'd start arguments and my father'd say, '0K, we'll settle the argument. Put the gloves on.''
