Day 26 down. 🔥 (last night)
I was feeling a little tight around my trunk, so I did my Integrations massager work + femoral nerve glides and that got me ready.
I got home from Jeet Kune Do at 8pm, and part of me immediately started justifying why it would be “fine” to take a day off.
But the other part of me said: let’s at least get started and see how it goes.
Then I spent about 30 minutes sanding down my callouses because they were a little raised… aka negotiating with myself 😅
Finally at 9pm I said screw it — let’s get it done.
Workout:
20 min EMOM
Sets of 5 @ 24kg
Then:
5 TGUs L/R (10 total) @ 20kg
Once I got started my brain realized, “This isn’t that bad. I can do this.”
By the end I felt great — and more importantly, I felt proud of myself for following through 💪🏼🧠🔥 even though part of me didn’t want to.
Here’s the truth: the brain is inherently lazy. It doesn’t want to change because change is expensive (fuel-wise) for the nervous system.
Every time I follow through especially when I don’t want to, I’m building discipline (hello, anterior cingulate cortex) and investing in longevity and health.
Comfort kills brain health. One of the best things I can do for myself is keep pushing out of my comfort zone.
And yes — there are appropriate times to rest and do self care. The line can be a little tricky… you just don’t want to practice selling yourself short and call it self care.

Day 25 down. 🔥 (yesterday)
Yesterday was one of those days where it would’ve been really easy to say, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” and stay on the couch.
I did 3 hours of massage, got home tired, and I could feel that little mental negotiation starting.
So I kept it simple and did the minimum effective dose — and protected the streak.
Workout:
10 min EMOM
Alternating single-arm swings — 10 reps @ 16kg
Then:
5 TGUs L/R (10 total) @ 16kg
This is what the challenge is teaching me: I don’t need a perfect window or perfect energy. I just need to start.
One day at a time.

Day 24 down. 🔥
Today I was tired. I wasn’t feeling it.
But I grabbed a bell and just got started.
I went a little lighter because I could still feel the snatches from the night before — and that’s the point: adjust the dose, keep the commitment.
Workout:
20 min EMOM
Single-arm swings 20kg
Then:
5 TGUs L/R (10 total) @ 20kg
And of course… by the end I felt proud. Not because it was perfect, but because I did it anyway.
One day at a time. One workout at a time.

Day 23 down. 🔥
Last night was a big one.
Workout (timeless):
Single-arm snatches 20kg — 20 sets of 5 (100 total)
5 TGUs L/R (10 total) @ 20kg
This is the first time I’ve ever done 100 snatches with the 20kg.
And yes… my coach yelled at me and told me I’ve been holding myself back 😂
I was pumped after this session. It feels so good to do more than you think you can… and have it not be as hard as you thought.
Here’s the part most people don’t know:
If you’ve ever had an injury, a “scar” can stick around in the nervous system long after you’ve healed physically. The brain remembers.
Nine years ago I was demonstrating a get-up after a full weekend softball tournament and I got 9/10 hip flexor pain going from the kneeling lunge to standing. Even now, there’s still a little fear in that part of the get-up because my brain remembers that moment.
But every time I stand up strong, I’m reinforcing that the data is old and it’s no longer true.
That’s why I do neuro work: femoral nerve glides, Integrations massager work, eye work — all of it helps me get pain-free, strong, stable reps.
And it turns out… I’m stronger than I realized. 😏

Day 22 down. 🔥 (yesterday)
Yesterday was a “get it in” kind of day — I was trying to finish before my HOA meeting, so I went with a timeless session.
Workout:
20 sets of 5 @ 32kg (timeless)
I started my TGUs, but after the first one I felt some pressure in my knee near the fibular head, so I stopped.
That’s not me being dramatic — that’s me being a professional.
I chose to stop, eat, and do drills instead of pushing through and turning a small signal into a bigger problem.
The plan today is simple: get back on it and don’t rush. Same commitment, better pacing.

Day 21 down. 🔥 (halfway)
My whole goal with this challenge was simple:
do my non‑negotiables daily for 6 weeks, and document it publicly so I actually follow through.
So that’s where I’ve put my focus:
👉🏼Simple & Sinister
👉🏼Carrot salad
👉🏼Daily proof
And here’s the part I want you to hear: I haven’t been rigid with my nutrition.
Over the last 3 weeks I’ve had birthday cake, ribs, and chicken parmigiana at social gatherings… and I enjoyed the food and the company. 🙂
This isn’t about perfection or beating myself up.
It’s about building trust one day at a time until it becomes what I do. Then I’ll add more layers.
Also… I’m officially halfway through and last night I hit a big win:
I did my Turkish Get-Up with 20kg. SA swings are at 24kg🔥
And I can see my body starting to change — and yeah, that’s really nice.

Day 20 down. 🔥
I didn’t feel like working out yesterday. I was tired… and I let it drag all the way to 9pm.
But instead of letting “tired” win, I got up and did it anyway — literally while my wife and I were watching a show.
And it felt way easier than I expected.
I felt STRONG.
It’s wild how much stronger I feel each day when I just keep showing up. Not perfect. Not hyped. Just consistent.
Workout:
20 min EMOM
Single-arm snatches — sets of 5
Then:
Turkish get-ups — 5 L / 5 R @ 16kg

Day 19 down. 🔥
Streak still alive — and it’s getting fun because it’s getting solid.
Same commitment. Same follow-through. Day after day.
Workout: 20 min EMOM
5 reps @ 24kg
Then:
5 TGUs L/R (10 total) @ 16kg
Nothing fancy. Just clean reps, momentum, and the kind of confidence you earn by keeping your word one day at a time.

Day 18 down. 🔥
My coach got on my ass last night 😂 and honestly… I needed it.
I’ve been choosing a weight that felt “smart” for something I can do daily, and he was like:
“You’re too strong for that weight.” lol
And this is exactly why having a coach matters.
Even as a trainer, I can hold myself back out of caution. Sometimes you need someone objective to look at you and say, “Nope. You can go heavier. You’re ready.”
So I changed it up.
Workout (timeless):
Double kettlebell swings: 2 x 24kg — 10 sets of 5
Then 2-handed swings: 32kg — 10 sets of 5 😏
It was late, I was hungry, and I skipped the TGUs. Not because I’m “off track,” but because I’m training like an adult: adjust the plan, keep the quality high, live to train tomorrow.
