Some days, the mental load feels heavier than the laundry basketโ€ฆ and thatโ€™s saying something. ๐Ÿงบ

If youโ€™re exhausted, overwhelmed, or just tired of being the strong one all the timeโ€”youโ€™re not alone. ๐Ÿ’›

Motherhood doesnโ€™t come with sick days, but it should come with support.
So hereโ€™s your reminder: itโ€™s okay to pause. Itโ€™s okay to rest. And itโ€™s more than okay to ask for help. ๐ŸŒฟ

Tag a mom friend who needs this reminder today!

Being a working mom means living in the tension of deadlines, daycare, and doing your bestโ€”every single day. And while the world tells us to โ€œbalance it all,โ€ the truth is balance isnโ€™t always possible. What we need instead are mindset shifts that give us permission to live differently.

โœจ From guilt โ†’ grace: Youโ€™re not failing; youโ€™re simply human.
โœจ From hustle โ†’ harmony: Your life doesnโ€™t need to be perfectly balanced, it just needs rhythm.
โœจ From superwoman โ†’ sustainable woman: Stop chasing โ€œdo it all.โ€ Build what lasts.
โœจ From breaking โ†’ becoming: The hard parts arenโ€™t proof of weakness; theyโ€™re proof of growth.

Motherhood and career will always be messy, but it doesnโ€™t have to feel impossible. Sometimes, the biggest change starts with how you choose to see yourself.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Which mindset shift do you need most this season? Share in the commentsโ€”youโ€™re not alone in this.

You donโ€™t need permission to define who you are.

Every time you choose to show up as your true self โ€” not the version others expect โ€” you reclaim your story. ๐Ÿ’ซ
This week, give yourself space to become โ€” to grow, evolve, and rise on your own terms.

๐Ÿฆ‹ You are your best definition.

Every season of motherhood brings lessons, growth, challenges, sacrifices, and moments of transformation that often go unseen by others.

As Black career mothers, many of us navigate multiple roles every dayโ€”professional, leader, caregiver, mentor, advocate, partner, and so much more. We carry responsibilities, celebrate achievements, overcome obstacles, and adapt to lifeโ€™s transitions, often without taking time to reflect on how those experiences have shaped our identity and personal growth.

Yet those experiences matter.

Your journey, your perspective, and the lessons you've gained along the way hold valuable insights that deserve to be heard, understood, and documented.

Her Story, Her Strength is a dissertation research study designed to explore how Black career mothers navigate identity, authenticity, leadership, motherhood, and change throughout their lives and careers. Through meaningful conversations and shared experiences, this study seeks to amplify voices that are often underrepresented in research and contribute to a deeper understanding of the unique experiences of Black women balancing career and motherhood.

If you are a Black career mother living in Colorado, your story could help inform future research, inspire meaningful dialogue, and contribute to a broader understanding of leadership and personal transformation.

We invite you to learn more about the study, participant eligibility, and what participation involves.

Because your story matters.
Because your experiences matter.
And because the wisdom gained through your journey may help create greater understanding for generations to come.

Some days, itโ€™s the endless to-do lists at work colliding with the never-ending chores at home. Other days, itโ€™s the guilt of wanting to advance in your career while also being present for your children. And letโ€™s not forget the sheer exhaustion of trying to be everything for everyoneโ€”with barely any time left for yourself.

Hereโ€™s the truth: you are not the only one feeling this way. And sometimes, just naming the hardest part of the juggle can make you (and another mama reading) feel lighter.

So letโ€™s create a space of honesty and connection. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Whatโ€™s the hardest part of juggling motherhood and career for you right now? Comment belowโ€”your words may be the encouragement another mom needs today.

For many women, some of life's most profound leadership lessons are not learned in boardrooms, classrooms, or professional development programs.

They are learned through motherhood.

Motherhood often teaches us how to lead with patience when situations feel uncertain. How to make difficult decisions when there is no perfect answer. How to advocate for others, adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and continue showing up even when the path ahead feels unclear.

For Black career mothers, the intersection of leadership and motherhood can bring unique challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities for growth. The lessons learned through these experiences often shape not only how women lead their families, but also how they lead in their careers, communities, and personal lives.

Perhaps motherhood has taught you resilience.

Perhaps it has taught you empathy.

Perhaps it has taught you courage, adaptability, grace, or the importance of setting boundaries.

We'd love to hear from you.

What has motherhood taught you about leadership?

This question sits at the heart of many conversations we hope to explore through Her Story, Her Strength, a dissertation research study examining the lived experiences of Black career mothers as they navigate identity, authenticity, leadership, motherhood, and change.

Your story matters. Your perspective matters. And your experiences deserve to be heard.

For many working moms, change feels constantโ€”new seasons at work, shifting routines at home, evolving identities in between. And with every change comes the mental load: thinking ahead for everyone, managing what-ifs, and keeping things from falling apart while quietly holding yourself together.

But hereโ€™s the truth: peace isnโ€™t the absence of changeโ€”itโ€™s learning how to move through change with care.

Thatโ€™s where the heart of Change Management comes in. Itโ€™s not just for companiesโ€”itโ€™s for you, too. Itโ€™s the practice of:
โœจ anticipating whatโ€™s shifting in your life,
โœจ creating space for the emotions that come with it,
โœจ building systems (and support) that protect your energy, and
โœจ reminding yourself you donโ€™t have to do it all alone.

So as you manage everyone elseโ€™s world, manage your own well-being, too.
Because peace of mind isnโ€™t optionalโ€”itโ€™s foundational. ๐Ÿ’›

As working moms, itโ€™s easy to forget that our careers are not meant to drain us; theyโ€™re meant to grow with us. ๐ŸŒฟ

When your work starts to feel dull, pause and reconnect with your why. Remember the vision that once lit you up โ€” itโ€™s still there, waiting for you to notice it again.

Then, feed that spark through growth. Learn something new. Stretch your skills, even in small ways.
And most importantly, celebrate your progress.
You donโ€™t have to wait for a promotion or a major milestone to feel proud. Every step forward matters.

Your career can evolve with you โ€” not against you.
Passion grows when purpose and pace meet. ๐Ÿ’›
