Aerial dance is a fun and creative activity that helps build strength, flexibility, coordination, confidence & more! All of these classes will rotate through 3 week blocks on each of the 4 main aerial apparatuses; sling/hammock, hoop/lyra, silks/fabrics & trapeze. At the end of the session they will prepare an aerial routine on their favorite apparatus. They will get to perform this piece at the end of the session!

WHAT: Want to learn the basics of aerial? Are all the apparatus choices intimidating? Think you’re not flexible or strong enough? In this 4 week series we will go through beginner appropriate stretches, conditioning and overall foundations of everything aerial. Learn fabric/silks, sling/hammock, Lyra/hoop, and trapeze while having fun in the upside down world.

PREREQUISITES: No experience necessary. Ages 17+.

Sofia Rodriguez
After teaching 4th grade in Austin, TX for 5 years, Sofia ran away to the circus and currently lives in Colorado where she teaches aerial arts and flexibility to various skill levels and ages. As an instructor for over 8 years, single point lyra is her passion but she is adept at teaching dance trapeze, sling, and fabric. She emphasizes form and theory to build skill with not just movement mastery, but with creativity and sequence development as well. Aside from working full-time as an aerial instructor, she has instructed immersions at the Aerial Dance Festival, retreats at Sweet Retreats, and travels to bring her unique workshops to studios across the nation.

WHAT: Have you completed our Intro to Aerial Series? Are you ready to take your skills to the next level?  In this 4 week series we will continue to add onto the skills you have started learning. Learn fabric/silks, sling/hammock, Lyra/hoop, and trapeze while having fun in the upside down world.

PREREQUISITES: Must have complete our Intro to Aerial Series or equivalent (contact us is unsure).
