Why do your resets keep popping up, even when you feel like you are taking pace off the ball?
Sometimes it is technique: an open paddle face, too much grip pressure, late contact, or a rushed swing. Sometimes the paddle's response makes that soft ball harder to repeat.
A simple way to find out:
• Use the same feeder, position, and target.
• Hit 10 resets with your current paddle.
• Track net clearance and landing depth.
• Change only the paddle, then repeat.
One perfect reset proves very little. What matters is whether the same motion produces a predictable ball.
