The Morgan Dawgs Elite family is asking our entire community — players, coaches, parents, families, friends, and supporters — to come together and lift Eliana Rivera and the entire Rivera family up in prayer.

There are moments when wins and losses on the court simply don’t matter. This is one of those moments.

Right now, we are asking Dawgs Nation to surround Eliana and her family with faith, love, strength, and prayer.

🙏 Please pray for healing over Eliana.
🙏 Pray for strength and comfort for the Rivera family.
🙏 Pray for wisdom and guidance for everyone caring for her.

DENVER, CO — The Morgan Dawgs Basketball Program is looking for the next group of hungry, competitive players ready to work, compete, and become part of the Dawgs family.

Following a strong spring and summer season, the Morgan Dawgs are now looking to add talented 7th and 8th grade players to the program for the upcoming 2026 Fall and Winter seasons.

We’re looking for players who love basketball, compete hard, play as a team, and want to take their game to another level.

Morgan Dawgs Elite 17U Captures Gold Championship at Prep Hoops Mile High Madness

AURORA, Colo. — The Morgan Dawgs Elite 17U closed out their 2026 summer season in championship fashion, finishing a perfect 4-0 to capture the Prep Hoops Mile High Madness Gold Division Championship.

The Dawgs displayed toughness, resilience, and composure throughout the weekend, overcoming four talented Colorado programs and proving once again why they have become one of the area’s rising programs.

The championship game lived up to its billing, as the Dawgs battled until the final seconds in an exciting 85-84 victory to secure the Gold Division title.

Tournament Recognition

The Morgan Dawgs were well represented as Prep Hoops Top Performers, with multiple players earning recognition for their outstanding play throughout the weekend:

🏀 Samuel Rich ( #7)

Their consistent play on both ends of the floor helped lead the Dawgs through an undefeated championship run.

The Gold Championship provides a fitting finish to an impressive inaugural season for the Morgan Dawgs Elite 17U. Throughout the summer, the team competed against some of the top competition in the country, traveling to NCAA live events in Las Vegas and Chicago while continuing to represent Colorado with pride. Over their final three tournaments, the Dawgs compiled an outstanding 11-2 record, including:

* 3-1 at the Bigfoot Hoops NCAA Live Event in Las Vegas
* 4-1 at the RecruitLook NCAA Live Event in Chicago
* 4-0 Gold Division Champions at the Prep Hoops Mile High Madness

The team’s growth, chemistry, and commitment to one another were on full display as they finished the summer playing their best basketball of the year.

Most importantly, this championship was earned while continuing to honor teammate #12 Alonso Baca, whose presence and spirit inspired the team throughout the weekend.

The Morgan Dawgs Elite 17U made a statement on one of the biggest stages of the summer, finishing 4-1 at the Recruit Look Chicago NCAA Live Event while competing against some of the top programs from across the country.

This weekend wasn’t just about wins and losses—it was about proving that Colorado basketball belongs on the national stage. Every game challenged this group to compete with toughness, discipline, and heart. From opening tip to the final buzzer, our players embraced every opportunity to battle elite competition in front of college coaches and against talented teams from coast to coast.

The Dawgs opened the weekend with an impressive 73-63 victory over MN Lace Up Black Garrett, battled a talented Team Ramey EYCL squad, and then responded exactly how championship teams do by closing the tournament with three consecutive victories over Illinois Ambush 17U (65-19), Illinois Express 17U (72-55), and a hard-fought 79-70 bracket win over O.W.E. to finish the weekend 4-1.

What makes this group special isn’t just the final record it’s the resilience they’ve shown throughout the season. They continue to grow because they trust one another, compete for one another, and never back down from a challenge. Every possession, every game, and every tournament has been another opportunity to improve while representing Colorado basketball with pride.

This team is built on hard work, accountability, and an unselfish approach that continues to show every time they step onto the floor. The chemistry between these young men has continued to grow throughout the summer, and it was on full display in Chicago against some of the nation’s best competition.

Over the past two NCAA Live events, the Morgan Dawgs Elite have put together an outstanding 7-2 overall record, following up a 3-1 performance in Las Vegas with this 4-1 finish in Chicago. Nine games against elite national competition have helped prepare this team for the next level while continuing to build confidence and momentum.
