Keep Moving Forward
"It ain't about how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." Our Recovery Coach Supervisor, Cedric Clark, keeps that one close, and it says everything about what recovery actually takes. Not perfection but persistence. Keep going.

Wellness Wednesday: Emotional
Emotional wellness means learning to sit with hard feelings instead of numbing them, and that's a skill, not a switch you flip overnight. In our life skills groups, we practice naming what we feel before deciding what to do about it. If today's a hard day, that's allowed. You don't have to have it figured out to be doing the work.

Faces of ke'nekt: Teri Smith
This month marks 21 years of recovery for our founder, Teri Smith, on August 9, 2005. Her career helping others recover began even earlier, back in 1999, and today she sits on the Board of the Colorado Association of Addiction Professionals and has spoken on the TEDx stage. But ask Teri, and she'll tell you her most important work has been letting go of her own shame so she could become a voice for people still finding theirs. Happy recovery birthday, Teri — thank you for building this.

Thoughtful Thursday
"The opposite of addiction is not sobriety; the opposite of addiction is connection." That's the idea our whole program is built on. Recovery isn't a solo project; it's community, coaching, and connection, one step at a time. Who's someone that's helped you feel less alone this week?

🌅 Small Steps Still Count
It’s easy to focus on how far you still have to go, but don’t forget to look back at how far you’ve already come.
Every healthy choice.
Every difficult conversation.
Every day you choose to keep going.
Those moments add up.
Celebrate your progress, even if no one else sees it. Growth happens one step at a time.

Pause for just a minute....
How are you feeling today?
Have you been taking care of yourself, or have you been pouring all your energy into everyone else?
Checking in with yourself isn’t selfish. It’s necessary. Give yourself permission to rest, ask for support, and celebrate the progress you’ve made.
Your mental health matters. 💛

🤝 International Friendship Day
Good friends don’t just celebrate your victories.
They sit beside you during the difficult days, encourage you when you feel like giving up, and remind you how far you’ve come.
Today we’re celebrating every friend, sponsor, mentor, peer, and chosen family member who helps make recovery possible.
Tag someone you’re thankful for. 💛

What is one thing you’re proud of this week?
Recovery isn’t just about big milestones.
It’s also about the everyday victories:
Showing up.
Setting boundaries.
Choosing yourself.
Asking for help.
Celebrate your progress.
