PongBot - PING PONG ROBOT, READY TO LEARN!
The Table Tennis Club purchased a robot! This robot (the PongBot Nova S Pro) provides members opportunities to improve their game skills from very basic to more advanced.
PongBot use requires a bit of training on operation of its controller, which is a remote like that of a television.
More important: Sustaining the functional health of the PongBot requires proper setup and disassembly. To ensure this occurs, we secure the PongBot, using a cable with lock and key. The key is kept at the Front Desk and available to any member who’s completed training on how to (1) set up, (2) operate, (3) disassemble and (4) return it to storage.
Current PongBot trainers are Steve Bouse, Marty Handel, & Jay Parker. We (think we) can train up to 4 people at a time.
To sign up for training, please send us and email at [email protected] and we'll schedule a time for you to train with one of these four trainers during one of our regular play periods.
Upon completion of training, your name will be added to the List of Approved Users that is kept at the Front Desk.
Once a trained member has the PongBot set up and running, any member can come over to the PongBot table and request to use it under the trained member’s guidance (and limited, of course, by overall demand at the time).
Also, the trained member that checked out the PongBot is responsible for its subsequent return to storage. Such responsibility can only be delegated to another trained member.
