💥💥Today at Grip Game Jiu Jitsu we had our promotions day, and it was a special one for the first time, we had two students who started with me as white belts home grown earn the rank of black belt.💥💥
I’m so grateful for all the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt that came from all over to witness this and be a part of this and speak to the newest Jiu Jitsu Black Belts. I’m very humbled very grateful. This community is big but small and I’m so blessed to be a part of it.
Vic and August each have put ten plus years into their training.
Ten plus years of early mornings.
Late nights.
Injuries.
Losses.
Doubt.
Life happening in between classes.
And they stayed.
Today as I said it isn’t just about a belt.
It’s about who you became to earn it.
At Grip Game ,belts aren’t given for talent.
They’re not given for just winning tournaments.
They’re not given for potential.
They’re given for perseverance.
For a decade, these two chose the mat over excuses.
They chose growth over ego.
They chose to come back when it would’ve been easier to walk away.
Most people quit at blue belt.
Some make it to purple.
Very few make it to black.
Not because it’s impossible But because it requires becoming someone different.
You don’t survive ten years in Jiu Jitsu without being reshaped by it.
This rank represents more than technique.
It represents funerals attended and then coming back to train.
Jobs changed.
Injuries rehabbed.
Losses absorbed.
Victories earned the hard way.
It represents maturity.
Control.
Patience under pressure.
And the discipline to keep showing up when nobody is clapping.
At Grip Game,we don’t just build fighters.
We build men ,women, and children who can endure. I put them all through so much in training and they showed they can stay calm in the chaos. They understand that real power is controlled power.
Today, your Black Belt doesn’t say you’ve mastered Jiu Jitsu. It says you refused to quit for over a decade and that’s rare.
From this point forward, you carry more than skill You carry legacy.
You are examples for every white belt who walks through that door.
You are proof that consistency wins.
You are proof that staying matters.
A black belt isn’t the end of the journey.
It’s the reward for becoming the type of person who finishes what they start.
I’m proud of everyone who earned their new rank today blue , purple and now Black Belt not just for the level you reached. But for the men and woman you became along the way.
I will always stand on this at Grip Game, we have never charged for belts, stripes, or testing fees and we never will. We don't do contracts to lock anyone in if you don't wanna train you don't have to.so You're here it's because it's 100% on you to be there and put the work inn.
Rank isn’t for sale here.
It’s not a business transaction.
It’s not a package deal. These are not cookies in a jar that everybody gets to walk up to and take.
It’s earned through sweat, sacrifice, and years of commitment.
YOU 100% earned it and I'm so damn proud of you all.
