We’ve collected quite a few personal saddles over the years, and we have to say this older McClellan saddle we snagged for $35 is more comfortable than some of our $2,000-plus saddles, while also weighing about 40 pounds less. What are some of your guy's favorite saddles to ride in?

Anyone who has visited our ranch over the years has probably met or ridden Dollar. He has been the leader of our herd since we opened and has played a huge role in the success of Skyhold Ranch.

Sadly, this past winter, his health took a serious turn. Dollar lost more than 400 pounds in less than three months while suffering from chronic diarrhea. Despite extensive testing, our local veterinarian was unable to determine the cause.

We were not ready to give up on him, so we brought him to the Cornell Equine Hospital in hopes of finding answers. Unfortunately, they confirmed what we had feared: cancer.

Dollar was diagnosed with epitheliotropic small-cell T-cell lymphoma. The prognosis remains very serious, with many horses surviving only a few months after diagnosis. However, Dollar is now six months into his fight and has made incredible progress, especially with regaining weight.

We understand that we may still be living on borrowed time, but we continue to hope for the best. We plan to keep fighting alongside him for as long as he shows us that he still has the will to live.

The first photo is Dollar near the end of last summer. The second was taken when he was likely at his worst this past winter. The last two photos is Dollar today. He is still around 200 pounds below his original weight, but the improvement he has made is remarkable.

We are incredibly grateful to the team at for everything they have done for Dollar and for giving us more time with such a special horse.

Anyone who’s been to our ranch has probably met Hank.
We rescued Hank from a horse auction when he was nothing but skin and bones. Our only plan was to give him a quiet place to retire in peace. Honestly, we weren’t sure he would even make it through his first winter here.
Two years later, he’s finally at a much healthier weight.
At 30+ years old, every winter is still a battle, and we know each season is a gift. But for as long as Hank is with us, he will always have a safe home here, full of care, comfort, and peace until the day he’s ready to go.
