Tap dancing is more than a dance style—it’s a celebration of cultural heritage that belongs to everyone.

A grant from Kirkpatrick Foundation will support Metropolitan School of Dance’s OKC Tap Dance Festival: Interwoven, bringing together audiences to explore the roots of tap and its lasting influence on dance. Through workshops, performances, and an expanded location, the festival creates an affordable, accessible space for cultural learning and community connection. The festival will take place September 18–20 in Oklahoma City; more information is available at okctapfest.org.

Rhythm moments that last a lifetime! We at Metropolitan School of Dance, Incorporated , LOVE the art of dance. Through a series of ah-ha moments at the OKC Tap FEsT ! The experience changed and elevated so many young lives with over 40 Tap Dance Workshops!

It was so awesome to visually see the articulation of expression for participants when they connected with each technique!
But that wasn’t all! The OKC Tap fest also presented African dance and hip-hop workshops!

You know you’ve done something right when we see the smiles that carry over, even after this annual event! So mark your calendars today for the OKC Tap Dance Festival 2026! Scheduled for September 18th through September 20 of 2026!
