Most fi****ms training develops mechanics. Brain Range develops the brain behind the trigger.
My friend Lance from Chambered Round recently tested the new Brain Range app ahead of its upcoming launch. We worked through several drills using different features, and this particular task used our **Find the Threat** mode.
In the drill, Lance had to:
đ§ Identify the color assigned to the threat
đď¸ Find the corresponding colored circle
đŁď¸ Say a word that started with the letter connected to that color
đŻ Draw from concealment and take the shot
What looks like a simple shooting drill actually combines several cognitive and physical demands at once.
He had to hold information in working memory, visually scan for the correct target, retrieve a word, communicate it, make a decision, and execute the draw and shot from a concealed position.
Drawing from concealment adds another layer of difficulty because it requires fine motor control, focus, body positioning, and clean ex*****on while the brain is already under increased cognitive load.
That is the purpose of Brain Range: not to replace fi****ms mechanics, but to challenge the cognitive skills that support performance under pressure.
