Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated and competed at our Monroe Farms Fall Classic yesterday - it was a stellar show. Huge thank you to the Jubilation Farm crew who went above and beyond with all the jumps, flowers, details and beautiful touches that made this show feel especially special.
This spring our show schedule included Sonoma Horse Park, California. By late May with the fuel price forecast climbing we jokingly said, let’s just stay home and make our own show here. It began with building a few jumps, painting some, then painting more. Then building more. Then literally designing the new arena fence to support riding in and out to access to the field. I had 7 from our barn and I thought maybe I should tell a few people about it, mostly to just come school, there were no thoughts of a judge at that time, vendor row, nursery’s loaning plants (all of which sold to exhibitors!), no hospitality breakfast and snacks. No National Anthem and color guard. I think we all saw something special developing and by July, we had a website and when entries opened we couldn’t keep up! This picture sums up why these schooling opportunities are so important to our communities. It’s a place for people to start for the first time and it gives experienced riders a unique environment in their home barn. Thank you to all who poured your hearts and stamina into making this schooling show truly memorable.
