💕MEET THE STAFF💕

We are so happy to welcome back Ms. Haley for her third year teaching at JLDA!

Ms. Haley has been dancing now for 9 years and will be teaching her belly dance class to the adults!

Ms. Jaclyn and Ms. Haley are very distantly related but besides that she actually only met the rest of the staff over these past three years, but it feels like we’ve known her forever! 🫶🏼

Ms. Haley loves belly dancing and teaching it to others. Ms. Haley welcomed a baby girl into her family this year, she is an adorable addition to our JLDA family! If you were wanting another reason to try belly dancing her doctors attribute her years of studying belly dancing to her very quick labor of her little girl. Dancing is beyond good for the body in more ways than one!

Ms. Haley is thrilled to be returning to JLDA to share her passion with you all! She looking forward to seeing all her new and returning students this year!🫶🏼💕

💕MEET THE STAFF💕

We are so happy to welcome back Ms. Emma to teach for her second year at JLDA!

Ms. Emma is not only a teacher for us but is also a student! She’s currently in her 12th year of dance and is thrilled to be not only learning her craft but sharing that joy of dance by teaching our younger students! Ms. Emma will be teaching beginner Pom and beginner hip hop this year.

Fun fact! Emma is Ms. Jaclyn’s daughter and has been loving working along side her momma 🫶🏼 Ms. Stephania, Ms. Marla and Ms. Emily are her loving aunties and she’s been taking dance classes with Ms. Lindsey for years.

Emma is currently on her fifth year of cheerleading and is currently on her high school’s varsity sideline team, she’s been on the varsity team since her freshman year. Emma is also a varsity track athlete and is in her second year of learning ASL(American Sign Language!).

Ms. Emma is so excited to share her love of dance with other students and is so happy to be back at it again! She’ll see you all soon! 🩷🤸🏽‍♀️🧑🏻‍🩰

💕MEET OUR STAFF💕

We would like to welcome back Ms. Kaitlyn for her second year teaching here at JLDA!

Ms. Kaitlyn has been dancing since she was just 3 years old! She will be teaching preschool and beginner acro gymnastics and beginner and advanced Pom hip hop!

A lot of the staff here at JLDA have kids themselves and most of them actually go to school together, which is how a lot of us met including ms. Kaitlyn! Ms. Stephania and Ms. Kaitlyn went to high school together (Go Pirates! 🫶🏽). Ms. Melissa and Ms. Kaitlyn figured out at the last dance recital that they were actually in the same Polish dance group as kids! How kismet is that?!

Ms. Kaitlyn was on the dance team in high school. She currently has a bearded dragon that LOVES to hangout on top of her little one’s heads!🦎and finally, over the summer Ms. Kaitlyn had the opportunity to do a paranormal tour of the Whitney Mansion over the summer! So spooky! 👻

Ms. Kaitlyn is thrilled to be back to teach for the 2026/2027 season! She’s ready for you! 🫶🏼💕🤸🏽‍♀️

💕MEET OUR STAFF💕

We’d like to welcome back Ms. Melissa for her 3rd year teaching with us at JLDA!

Ms. Melissa has been dancing since she was 4 years old and enjoyed it all the way through high school! She will be teaching our preschool hip hop class and our preschool and beginner tap classes this year!

Ms. Melissa has know Ms. Marla for over 15 years now. It was Ms. Marla who was the one that got Ms. Melissa to come out of retirement and become a teacher for us and she’s been loving it ever since. We’re so grateful that she did because our littles LOVE Ms. Melissa, she is wonderful with our tiny dancers! Her favorite thing about teaching? Getting to see and teach her niece!

Ms. Melissa was a polish dancer from the ages of 6-17, she also did baton, tap, jazz and ballet as a child. She LOVES her doggie, Bella and loves being an auntie and spends as much time as she can with her niece, nephew and goddaughter.

Ms. Melissa is looking forward to meeting her new pre school students and seeing her returning students in beginner tap this 2026/2027 season! 🩷🪩🙊🫶🏽

💕LETS GET READY FOR CLASS💕

It’s your first time here and you have questions? Are you returning but need a refresher? You know I got you! Below is everything you’ll need to know to make you first week of dance fabulous!

What does my child need to wear for class?

each class has a standard dress code:

* ACRO GYM (preschool and beginner): for girls, pink ballet shoes, any leotard and tights or aerobics outfit. Boys will need black ballet shoes and any aerobics outfit. Absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS. Girls and boys with long hair must have their hair tired back

* ACRO GYM (intermediate and up) : boys and girls will wear black jazz shoes, any colored leotard or any aerobics outfit. Absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS. Girls and boys with long hair must have their hair tied back

* BALLET (all levels): girls will need pink ballet shoes(black ballet shoes for boys), any color leotard and tights or an aerobics outfit. Girls and boys with long hair must have their hair tied back. Absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS

* CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL (all levels): Tan jazz shoes, any leotard and tights or aerobics outfit. Hair just be tied back and out of face. absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS.

* JAZZ/HIP-HOP & POM/HIP-HOP (all levels): black jazz shoes, any colored leotard and tights or aerobics outfit for all dancers. Hair must be tied back and out of your child’s face. Absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS.

* Tap (All levels): Black tap shoes, any leotard and tights or aerobics short outfit for all dancers. Absolutely NO JEANS/BAGGY SWEATPANTS. Hair must be tied back and out of child’s face.

Okay, where can I buy shoes?!

* Anywhere you’d like! We do not require a specific brand of shoe for your student, however we do sell shoes at our front desk! Please be patient if you decide to go this route as the first week is always hectic but one of our staff will happily size your child and place the order. Orders take roughly between 1-2 weeks to come in.

Can I watch my student in class?

* Parents are NOT allowed in class as it causes a major distraction for the children and takes the attention away from our wonderful teachers. But don’t fret, parents! You are welcomed to wait in the hallway outside your child’s class and later on in the session we will have a parent viewing day so you can see what you child has been working on!

Where do I park/ what door do I go in?

* For our Tuesday/ Thursday parents and students, classes are held at Long elementary school in Dearborn. You may park in the parking lot off New York st. Across from the tennis courts. Entering into the building you’ll use the main doors that face Westwood where you’ll find our front desk staff waiting to greet you and check in your child for class.

* For our Wednesday parents and students, classes are held at Nowlin elementary school in Dearborn. The parking lot is off Penn st. and you’ll enter the doors facing the soccer fields(Door #6). Once you walk in you’ll see our front desk staff waiting to greet you and check you child into their class

We ask that for your first day you arrive between 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork for your child. If you’d like to get ahead of that, below is a link for you to pre fill out all paperwork!

💕MEET OUR STAFF💕

We’d like to welcome back Ms. Stephania for her fourth year here at JLDA!


You may recognize Ms. Stephania since she’s been sitting at the front desk these last few years but this year she is taking on a new role as our social media coordinator. You’ll be seeing her this year popping in and out of classes snapping pics and making content to keep our socials updated with the goings on around the studio.

Ms. Stephania has enjoyed working with her besties, Ms. Marla and Ms. Jaclyn these last five years but did you know that she’s also taken many workout classes with Ms. Lindsey (check her out!) and Ms. Kaitlyn and her were actually in high school choir together! And of course, Ms. Emma is her wonderful niece 💗

Did you know Ms. Stephania is not a trained dancer? She’s a theater kid through and through actually! So while she’s tried her hand at many styles of dance she’s never been professionally trained. She’s been a trained singer since the age of 6 and growing up she was part of the Detroit Children’s Choir, won many state level competitions and even met her wonderful husband in her college choir class (Awh!🫶🏽) She’s also a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings and anything pop culture

brings in her new position and can’t wait to see you all again for the 2026/2027 season! 💕🫶🏽🪩

💕MEET THE STAFF💕

Today we will be introducing Ms. Marla who is back for her fifth year working for JLDA!

Ms. Marla is our office manager and the creator of all our designs here! Her small business, Korkosini Creative and Custom Designs, is where she’s created all our lovely merchandise that you can purchase at the front desk throughout the 2026-2027 season!

Ms. Marla loves getting to work with her best friends and has loved working with the staff here she’s felt it’s become more like family than a job! How sweet is that?!

Wanna get to know Ms. Marla a little better? Besides being a small business owner herself, she’s a mother of twins who are both students at JLDA! She loves the musical, NEWSIES and she also has dual citizenship!

Ms. Marla and the front desk team are looking forward to welcoming all our new and current students back this year! 🫶🏼💕
