At GRIT Hoops Academy, we’re building something much bigger than basketball.

Wins, championships, and player development matter—but they will never be our greatest success. Our greatest accomplishment is building a family where every athlete is known, valued, challenged, and loved.

Our coaches don’t just teach the game. They invest in lives. They celebrate victories, walk through setbacks, hold athletes accountable, and create relationships that extend far beyond the final buzzer.

Years from now, we hope our players remember more than the drills and the games. We hope they remember the people who believed in them, pushed them to be better, and showed them what it means to live with character, faith, and GRIT.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not just developing better basketball players—we’re developing better people.

A logo is more than a design—it tells a story.

Today, GRIT Hoops Academy is proud to unveil the next chapter of its identity.

While the name remains the same, the meaning behind the logo has grown even deeper.

The addition of orange pays tribute to Johnson University Florida—where GRIT founder Matt MacGinnis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and had the privilege of playing collegiate basketball. Although the Florida campus has since closed, its impact continues to shape the mission of GRIT Hoops Academy.

Orange also represents GRIT’s partnership with At the Rim Training, while navy blue remains the academy’s primary color and foundation.

Moving forward, GRIT’s physical representation will be the Suns, inspired by Johnson University Florida’s athletic identity. The flames represent the fire from the suns, they symbolize the light of Christ, the refining fire of faith, and the passion that drives everything this program stands for.

GRIT has always stood for God Reigns In Triumph. Basketball is the platform, but the mission remains the same: to develop athletes, build leaders, and glorify Christ.

Two weeks ago, GRIT Hoops Academy Owner & Director, Coach Matt MacGinnis, had the privilege of co-leading the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Bible & Basketball Camp at Calvary Christian in Ormond Beach, Florida.

It was an incredible opportunity to invest in the next generation by combining basketball development with the life-changing message of the Gospel. At GRIT Hoops Academy, the mission has always extended beyond the game—using sports as a platform to build character, develop leaders, and point young athletes toward Christ.

Thank you to FCA and Calvary Christian for the opportunity to serve. We look forward to continuing to impact lives on and off the court. 🏀✝️

What an incredible week at the FirstNSB Basketball Camp! 🏀

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this week so special. We loved pouring into the next generation of athletes through skill development, competition, encouragement, and plenty of fun.

This group brought great energy, coachability, and effort every single day. We hope each player left a little more confident, a little more knowledgeable, and inspired to keep chasing their goals.

Thank you to FirstNSB for allowing GRIT Hoops Academy to be a part of an amazing week. We can’t wait to do it again!
