🌤️ Golden Cloud is making her comeback!! After being hospitalized with EHV-1 & a deep digital flexor injury about 1.5 yrs ago now— we took our time & it’s paying off!

She fired even harder in her second run at the Royal Crown, and that makes me so happy because it tells me she must have felt good. This mare has so much heart and getting to feel her come back stronger every run is the best feeling. She has so much confidence now at 11 yrs old…

Golden Cloud has my whole heart 🌤️✨

After losing Eleanor in November of 2025 to EHV-1 and getting her necropsy results back—seeing the extent of the neurological damage with strokes in her brain and down her spinal cord—I knew bringing Golden Cloud back wasn’t something to rush.

So I’ve taken it slow, rebuilding her step by step. Lots of intentional, thoughtful work—sidepassing over ground poles, long trotting through them, and setting them in elevated circles to get her to really engage her hind end and think through every step. Because at the end of the day, retraining neural pathways takes nothing but time.

She’s flushed several embryos over the past few years and also battled EHV after the WPRA Finals. Needless to say, nothing can stop her. I’m so thankful for all the prayers that have been said over her—God kept her safe and carried her through it. Thank you to Signature Equine, Lane Wood at Valley Equine, my farrier Kyle Kukla, Dr. Charlie, Dr. Don Lee with XX Veterinary, and LSU Equine Hospital for all of the parts they have played in this.

I got to cruise her at Springtown Farms yesterday, and she clocked a 14.8 just loping… unreal. Gosh, I love this mare.
