Jazz McDonald holding up a pretty summer time red. Like many fish they have photo sensors in their skin giving them the ability to change there color to help blend in with their environment. Redfish in the summer over dark grasses have a much darker bronze color while winter redfish over sand tend to have a silver/light pink color. The fish in this picture was caught over mixed bottom so somewhat in between. Even taking one from the dark grasses and putting them in a white livewell will show you how they change.
