We’ve been continuing to load data into the new Monte Vista Football Alumni Association Record Book. The latest editions are team photos (accessible from the Seasons page for the selected season – when available) and player head shots (accessible from player profiles (when the head shot is available. Note that only one head shot per player, so if you played for 2-3 years, your photo is only there for the last year. There will be a second post coming up soon where I beg for more data.

I am posting to announce the beta release of a new MVFAA capability – our online Record Book. Many years ago we had a site with records, but it was difficult and cumbersome to maintain. Stats came from a massive Excel spreadsheet that I created over almost 30 years. Brian Holter has taken that data, processed it with AI and created an updated version at:

Stop in and you will see what is there, and still evolving. Some items, like more data on staff and the Hall of Fame are still being built out. We’re also beginning to add some photos. But I may have to stop with trivia questions, because all of the answers will be here. Have fun and let us know if you uncover any issues.

This is the last of the stat updates and trivia questions for this year. Ben Kerrigan finished his second year as a kicker and has another one left to go. He’s already on the career leader board in total kick scoring (6th) with 116 points, and extra points (4th) with 89. For the season, 2025’s efforts placed him 6th in season scoring (68), field goals (6), and extra points (50). More to come, we’re sure.

And now for the trivia: Only three times has an MV kicker kicked more than ten field goals in a season. Who were the kickers?

A number of underclassmen captured roles as receiving starters on this year’s team, so their career numbers aren’t there yet. And as to the season, receptions and yards were spread around a good bit, so it looks like we’ll need to wait until next year for them to secure top spots in the record book.

Ian Ondricek had a fantastic season as a quarterback. He cracked the all-time single season top ten in attempts, completions, touchdowns, and completion percentage. His 65.9% season completion percentage ties him for fourth all-time in MV history – and there are a lot of quality quarterbacks on this list. He twice had games where he attempted 20 or more passes and completed more than 85% of them grabbing #6 and #10 on the single game list.

As we come to the end of the most successful Monte Vista football season in a number of years, I thought I would recap entries that were chiseled into the offensive statistic record book this year. Over the next few days (or weeks based upon energy level), I’ll highlight the new entries and throw out a few stat trivia questions as well.

It’s unusual for MV to have two rushers breaking into the all-time leaders in the same year. It happened this year with Henry Lasker adding a few big games to his junior year totals before suffering an injury and Torin Dunphy answering the call and dominating rushing when Henry was gone. For the records, Henry ends up 22nd on the all-time career rushing yards list, driven by two 200 yard games which ended up 13th and 19th on the all-time single game list. Torin, primarily on the strength of a strong senior season, ended up 24th in all-time career rushing yards, and with the 25th best single season. Imagine either guy if they were “the man” for the full year.
