Hands to Feet Pose | Pada-Hasthasana 🧘‍♂️

A deep forward fold that works from the ground up.

Hands to Feet Pose helps stretch the spine while building flexibility throughout the legs. It also works the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the lower body while encouraging circulation.

It’s one of those postures that can feel very different as your practice progresses, and that’s part of the beauty of consistent practice.

Why aren’t inversions part of the traditional Bikram Yoga series? 🧘‍♀️

It’s intentional.

The Bikram method focuses on building strength, stability, flexibility, and control through the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises before introducing more advanced inverted postures.

For beginners, the goal isn’t to rush into the most challenging poses, it’s to build a strong foundation first.

Many of the benefits people associate with inversions are also addressed throughout the existing series through other postures and techniques.

With consistent practice, your instructor may eventually invite you into more advanced classes where inversions and other advanced postures are explored.

Build the foundation. Trust the process. Let your practice progress with you. 🧡

Rabbit Pose - Sasangasana 🧘‍♀️

A small shape with a powerful effect.
Rabbit Pose creates maximum extension through the spine, helping support spinal mobility and elasticity while stretching the muscles of the back.

The posture also creates compression through the neck and throat, while the spine is lengthened and the nervous system is stimulated through increased circulation.

In class, you may notice the pose helping release tension through the neck, shoulders, and back while creating a deep stretch through the entire spine. 🌿
