Bikes, Trains & a Day at the Dallas Zoo🦒

Shop owners Mark and Audrey recently made a day trip to the Dallas Zoo from the Electric Avenue shop. 

They rode their Riese & Müller bikes (a Nevo5 Automatic and a Homage Vario HS) straight to the front gate, where the zoo has dedicated bike parking right next to the ticket and membership booth. After a full day of giraffes, hippos, they rolled out, crossed Clarendon, and caught the DART Red Line at the Dallas Zoo stop.

🦛 The hippos and giraffes are unmissable especially during snack time.

Meet the Team! First up we'd like you to meet Sam, one of our shop Mechanics in Austin ⚡🚲
Sam just recently graduated from with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus in Distributed Systems and Software Infrastructure.
He's been with Electric Avenue since January, but his love of bikes goes back to freshman year, when a friend from the National Society of Black Engineers (shoutout to Max Chevelle who taught him how to fix the used bike he'd bought off Facebook Marketplace) That knowledge turned into working at UT's .ut a nonprofit campus bike shop, and eventually landed him here.

On his favorite bike in the shop: The Riese & Müller Culture. He test rode it after helping tune it up and came away a big fan.
We're glad Sam found his way to Electric Avenue and so excited to see all the places he will go in the future. 🚲 ⚡

Electric Avenue is proud to be an official Bike to Work Day Fueling Station in Austin this year! We will be providing local cold brew coffee, pastries, water, snacks. We will be available to pump tires, etc., as well.

Bike to Work Day returns May 15 with fueling stations, group rides, and celebrations across the city.
