Some of the best things happen when you stop trying to plan every moment.

The best conversations.
The deepest breaths.
The unexpected laughs.
The moments that remind you you're exactly where you need to be.

So today, give yourself permission to leave a little space in your schedule.

Maybe that space becomes a walk.
Maybe it's a nap.
Maybe it's time on your mat.

You don't always need a plan.
Sometimes you just need to be present.

Happy , YAMily. ☀️💜

What if the real thing holding you back isn’t your strength—but your confidence?

One of the biggest reasons people stop doing things they love isn’t strength.

It’s fear.
Fear of falling.
Fear of getting hurt.
Fear that their body won’t cooperate.

Better balance doesn’t just reduce risk—it increases confidence.

Confidence to travel.🧳
Confidence to play with grandchildren. 🧒 Confidence to try new things. 🆕
Confidence to keep living life on your terms. 🤩

Every yoga practice includes opportunities to improve stability, coordination, and body awareness.

Because aging isn’t about doing less.
It’s about staying capable of doing what matters most

ARTIST STATEMENT: Cursed with a Creative Mind, I can look at a pile of scraps and conceive a piece of art or furniture. This is good except that I come up with projects faster than I can finish them. It should be no surprise that I live in The House of a Thousand Projects.

I like to use old wood, paper, and fabric, and the occasional bit of metal or glass; working with color and texture brings me joy. I use boards off the trash pile and picture frames from yard sales, etc; friends have even started saving material for me. Nail holes are fine, as that adds to the wood's character - when I polish it, I uncover mineral deposits' of assorted colors, usually sparkling. I can make a pine board look like it’s been underwater for decades, or like antique silver. Rotted wood or termite damage is even better, as I can sand it down and shape unique pieces; most of them can serve as Rorschach tests.

Using found objects feeds my creativity, and there's even a word for that: bricolage. So I've decided to start a new school/movement in the tradition of Les Arts Nouveaux and Les Arts Decoratif - Art Brico, short for Les Arts Bricolage.

All good things must come to an end and our stand alone (non auto renewing) class packs are no different.

This may be your last chance to get a 10-pack that doesn’t auto renew. So for ultimate flexibility grab one before they’re gone.

Currently showing in The Gallery at YAM.

This work serves as a meditation on the artificiality of borders against the enduring pulse of the earth. A patch of Texas daffodils are symbols of a “wild” hope; they do not recognize geopolitical lines, thriving instead on the resilience inherent in the soil. They represent a life force that refuses to be contained by steel or law.

The foundation of the piece is constructed from mirrored mosaic tiles, positioned at eye level to provide a deliberate confrontation. As the viewer looks upon the “other side” of the wall, they are met with their own reflection. This visual choice is an architectural scream of a fundamental truth: that whether through our own journeys or the echoes of our ancestors, we have all stood on that side of the landscape once before in a shared history of migration and survival.

Ultimately, the piece asserts that the wall is an arbitrary, man-made fracture, a temporary monument that time and rust will eventually erase. In contrast, the land is eternal, belonging only to the people and the dreams they plant within it. Under the watchful, merciful gaze of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the work honors the sacred journey of those seeking the “land of no kings.” It is a testament to the belief that the pursuit of Lady Liberty is the only true constant of the horizon.
