A lot of people are missing from this photo, but one year ago today we headed to Hunt with Good Shepherd’s Disaster Relief team.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into. As a father with a daughter, everything that had happened hit close to home. I felt like I couldn’t just stand by and watch.

Tonight we reunited to remember, reflect, and honor everyone impacted.

Without question, it was the most impactful experience I’ve ever been a part of. A group came together with one purpose, to help. Along the way, we met incredible people, witnessed unbelievable generosity, and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. We served, searched, and prayed day and night for nearly a week.

While I was away, my AO coaches stepped up and organized a fundraiser football camp to support the relief efforts with no hesitation.

We continue to pray for every family who lost someone and for everyone still healing. Life is fragile. Love your people, serve when you can, and never take tomorrow for granted.

We had a great group of athletes from different teams and schools come together to learn, compete, and improve their game. The effort, energy, and willingness to get better was on full display all week long.
