With a comprehensive schedule, the academies are attractive to all types of students, ranging from competitive jiu-jitsu athletes to adults and children who want to learn jiu-jitsu for self-defense, build self-confidence, and live a healthy life style. All Checkmat Texas are leaded by Professor Leonardo (Leo) Vieira who holds a fifth degree Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, which places him in the top 1% amongst all jiu-jitsu practitioners competing professionally in or coaching jiu-jitsu.
