What did your four-year-old self learn that still shapes who you are today?

#weatherproofyouridentity #leadershiptransitions #coaching | Karunah P. "Why do you eat so slow?" I was four. She ran the daycare, and she was sitting across the table from me because someone had to wait for me to finish. I still hear it. A wooden table pushed against the wall. My round steel tiffin box. Me on one side, her on the other, watching me eat. I was the only....

One in three women describe their birth experience as traumatic.
Then, at some point, they go back to work.

#weatherproofyouridentity #womeninleadership #workingmothers #executivecoaching | Karunah P. One in three women describe their birth experience as traumatic. Then, at some point, they go back to work. The meetings restart. The deadlines are still there. The new targets to meet. But the woman who comes back may not be the same one who left. A leader I coach knew this firsthand. She had gone....

What if some of what we call Imposter Syndrome isn’t a confidence problem at all, but an identity that hasn’t caught up yet?

#weatherproofyouridentity #leadershiptransitions #executivecoaching | Karunah P. She had spent six years becoming the expert. And six years making sure she never felt like one. A leader I coach at a Fortune 10 company said something in one of our sessions that made me put my pen down. "Every time I walk into a room, I walk in like I am still an intern " That didn't match the per...

Such a wonderful Wishing Out Loud® luncheon with Lisa Ong today!

We used Lisa’s R.O.C.K.S.™ Approach — Resources, Opportunities, Connections, Knowledge & Support — and it was wonderful to see it come alive around the table.

Many of us were coaches, where you might expect some competition. Instead, our different niches and strengths led to people generously sharing opportunities, connections, platforms, forums and resources with one another.

Camaraderie over competition. ❤️ And a reminder that there really is room for all of us.

What did you have to unlearn when you worked across cultures.

#weatherproofingyouridentity #crossculturalleadership #leadership | Karunah P. 8:30 p.m. A private dining room our host had reserved in an elegant restaurant high above Dubai. Floor-to-ceiling glass along one side. The whole city stretched below us in gold. There were about a dozen of us around the table. Half our team, supply chain, culinary, and QA, visiting the market from....

Same person. Three rooms. Every one asked for something different.

#weatherproofingyouridentity #leadership #leadershipdevelopment | Karunah P. Look at her. Barefoot on a stage, dancing to a Madari's tune, playing a village bumpkin named Jamura. You'd never guess this same woman coaches Fortune 10 leaders. Nobody in that audience could see it. That's the point. Here's what people say to me. On the runway: "You're a completely different pers...

I help leaders navigate some of the biggest transitions of their careers.

Ironically, the transition I’ve been slowest to embrace is my own: becoming visible for my work close to home.

When a local podcast invited me to talk about my business, I hesitated.

During my corporate career, my work took me across 35 countries. Today, I help leaders navigate promotions, career transitions, and the identity shifts that come with them.

A neighborhood podcast wasn’t the stage I’d imagined.

Then I realized something.

I tell my clients all the time: before you fight for a seat at the table at work, ask whether you have one at home.

Yet I’d spent years building a global career while overlooking the community right outside my front door.

So I said yes.

Instead of speaking to a global audience, I spent time talking to my neighbors.

Funny how often the opportunity we’re waiting for isn’t bigger.

It’s closer.

Thank you, Sophia, for creating a platform that celebrates the people and businesses making a difference in our community. ❤️

Quick question…

Who left the first footprints for you to follow, making something feel possible before you even had words for it?

I’d love to hear your answer. Mine is in my latest LinkedIn post:

#weatherproofyouridentity #executivecoaching #leadershipdevelopment | Karunah P. I was about eight when my mother took me to work with her. She managed a branch for Oriental Insurance Company. Her cabin sat in the middle of the office — wooden walls, glass window panels, the teams' desks stretched out around it. All morning, people walked in one by one. Some carried files. Som...
