June is Men’s Health Month.
For many men, strength has been connected to silence.
Push through.
Don’t complain.
Keep going.
Be strong.
But ignoring what your body is telling you is not strength. Paying attention is. This month, I want to invite men to begin with something simple: a body scan.
Ask yourself:
- How do I feel when I wake up?
- Am I rested or tired?
- Is my back hurting?
- Are my muscles stiff?
- How is my energy during the day?
- Do I crash after lunch?
- How is my posture while I work?
- Are my neck, back, shoulders, eyes, or legs feeling the stress of my day?
These simple questions can tell you a lot about your health.
Sometimes we are so busy working, providing, leading, and pushing through that we overlook the signs our bodies give us.
Your body, mood, posture, and energy are telling a story.
Listen to it.
Create your own questions. Choose what you want to improve. Notice what you have been ignoring. Start the inward conversation today.
Because we can only perform well when we are feeling well.
