Every jiu-jitsu student starts out passing guard the same way: getting stuck, getting swept, and getting frustrated. But that phase doesn’t last forever. The more you train, the more you improve.
There are no shortcuts. Progress comes from mat time, repetition, and consistent effort. Keep showing up. Keep learning.
Over time, the guard that once felt impossible to pass becomes one you navigate with confidence.

Showing up consistently changes you. Not just in jiu jitsu, but mentally too. Some days are tough, some rounds humble you, and some days you feel everything clicking. Either way, every session counts. Just keep showing up and putting the work in. 🥋

Congrats to Jonah Shook for a 2nd place finish at the IBJJF Atlanta Spring International Open! Job well done 👏👏👏
We talked with Allie and Brittany about their experience getting started with jiu-jitsu and wanted to hear their thoughts.
Both shared that they had initial nerves when they first began, but they didn’t let that stop them. Now they both enjoy training, are having fun with it, and want to keep improving.
If you’ve ever been curious about jiu-jitsu, consider giving it a try. Starting can feel intimidating, but most people find it becomes something they really enjoy once they take that first step.
Everyone wants to get better at Jiu Jitsu, but not everyone actually trains like it.
There’s a big difference between thinking about it and putting in the reps.
Some people wait for it to click, others show up and make it click.
Be the one who trains.
