Cupped at the top = Open at impact!

Looking at data collected by the majority of club golfers have an extended wrist at the top of their swing. The higher the players index, the more likely this will be the case!

An open face at the top of the swing, doesn’t guarantee an open face at impact however, due to this being a common occurrence, I would definitely be targeting the wrist at the top of the swing or trying to make the change halfway in the back swing.

there is a subtlety to the wrist so having a way to measure them is definitely the best solution, but this data would suggest if you think your wrist is cupped and you are slicing, you probably are.

Why a Maxed Bowed wrist may not work!

The wrist device has highlighted that many golfers have an extended wrist at the top of the swing, which will increase the likelihood of hitting the ball to the right/slice. There are a number of tour pros that seemed to use an extremely bowed wrist, this would be the opposite position to the one earlier described. Although theoretically, a bowed wrist is going to completely solve the right miss, it requires a lot of rotation and strength that the average golfer might not possess. Aiming to get your wrist in an optimal range is going to give more benefits than going from one extreme to the other.

Thought me and Snoopy were boys…

Coming to the end of my speed cycle using TheStack and general health. Especially when focusing on speed but tbh with all self improvement, people from the outside won’t get the process and most likely criticize, haters gonna hate so keep at it and be the best version of yourself! 💪🏼💪🏼

The Buzz Saw 😎

Extreme down hill short game shot… no problem with the Buzz Saw. Can you pull off this shot?

I’ve actually thought about this shot a lot and believe it deals with this situation really well; not sure how much you’d have to practice it before trying in a competitive round thou…

Different body moves needs different wrist patterns 🖐️

The wrists can both be looked at 1) error 2) sequenced

1) Error:

You can definitely move your wrists in an suboptimal way which will cause impact issues and make the body downgrade to try and solve the issue. An example of this is having a wrist movement that opens the face, the body now needs to stop rotating/stall to try and shut the face. Over the top movement can also be expected as this is trying to slam the club shut.

2) sequenced

The wrists go through many phases of movement in a fully functional swing and this sequencing will interact with the body therefore, a robust wrist profile is going to encourage good body mechanics.

There are different ways to move the wrists effectively, and we want to have a movement present that matches how the body is capable of moving, sometimes a really good wrist move might require a dynamic body that the golfer doesn’t have available, therefore looking at both sides of the equation and finding a good match is going to unlock your best Golf.

Get questions in the comments as I’m more than happy to make more specific wrist videos on this topic.

Limited edition Bomber Driving iron 💥

Can see why these sold out so quickly, love the finish compared to the standard UDI and the headcover is one of the best.

Would you rock a driving iron?

Calibration work with Jack Irons.

Always fun to work with a player that has it in them to putt fantastically so just needs a 1% boast in a couple of areas to unlock the potential.

Focusing on calibrating stroke, aim and read and then combining it with routine will create great performance. Small alterations not big ones!

Up with the body ⬆️⬆️⬆️

To load the body in order to give both speed and consistency in strike the body needs to feel that it is extending into impact rather than collapsing towards the ground. Push up with your body, extend and release the pelvis, your golf shots will thank you!

So you know you should turn your body but can’t…

To create stability in your golf swing, managing the body in terms of both shifts and rotations is a must. The issue that arises in many golfers is an issue with the wrists and subsequent open face prevents access to the body!

data has shown me that a major issue in club golfers is having the wrists extended at the top. This has to be prioritized and will then give you the opportunity to a far better downswing/impqct.

High hands needs push up ⬆️⬆️⬆️

A player with a longer, higher backswing needs to push up through the ground (vertical force) to gain their optimal delivery.

If a player with these characteristics isn’t playing well and try’s to stay down to control the strike, they will tend to lose control and start feeling the backswing needs to be altered. Don’t change the backswing just match it up with a positive movement.
