Jr. High Practice will start at 5:30 on September 24th and last until 6:30. Practice times may change in the future in lieu of day light.

CORRECTION

Jr. High Girls traveled to West Muskingum to take on the Tornados on Monday September 21st for a whirl wind of a game. We were fortunate to play on their turf field since it rained over the weekend as well as prior to the game.

The Tornados jumped out to an early lead in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Shortly following their goal, Zari Sinnett found Emma Hunt who hit the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 going into half.

After half time, West M. scored to recapture the lead making it 2-1. After a few minutes of solid soccer play, Cadence Watson found Emma Hunt for a goal, tying the game at 2-2. The score remained tied until the very end of the game when West M. scored with 14 seconds remaining in the game to capture the win 3-2.

Losing is never the result you want in a game; the weather didn’t help. Everyone was able to get some playing time.

Our next game is against Maysville…time and place could change. Any further update to the game time and place will be posted.

Youth ⚽️ appreciation night at RVHS tonight. Area youth soccer players got to go on the field during introductions of the boys game.

No practice today.

All Jr High Girls are invited to the RV game today September 22 at RV, game starts at 5:30. All players who wear their grey jerseys to the game will be admitted for free.

Practice will resume Wednesday at normal times.

Hey 5th grade girls who are looking to play Jr. High Soccer in 2027. We are inviting you to come to our practice to get a feel of the sport and what you can expect for the upcoming season. Come participate in some of the drills with the team. In the past we have noticed this helps when open fields and practice begins. We don't play 5th graders in games (its against the rules of our league), but you can come work out with us to build some chemistry with the girls. We practice Monday's through Thursday's on the rec field behind KA in front of the cemetery. Before you show up, send us a message and we can confirm times as well as a list of what is needed for practice. Follow this page for any additional updates or changes. We would love to see some girls come play and build our program.

Thursday September 17 the girls traveled to John Glenn to take on the Muskies. We got off to slow start giving up a goal 6 mins into the game. We held JG scoreless for the remaining part of the first half. The second half was not much better, giving up 3 goals, one of which was an own goal. Despite loosing 4 to zero, the girls played to the end and didn't give up. When looking back at a game we always see the score; however, the effort doesn't show up. Good work girls!

Monday the 21st we travel to West Muskingum to take on the Tornados where we hope to get back on top!

Jr High Skins hosted Bishop Fenwick on Monday the 14th at KA…pulled out a nice win; 4/0! Great team effort; the offense pushed the ball through open spaces, terrific through balls and shut out by our defense/goalie.

Per usual the defense was by committee; Chloe Hunt, Aubrey Searls, Londyn Riehl, Allie Potts, Layne Moore and Aubree Means (goalie).

All of our 6th graders were able to get some extra paying time on the field for this game; Taylin Hendershot, Tru Turner, Ellie Campfield, Hope Durben, Bralynn Hardesty, Lilly Tubs and Ivy Murphy.

We are so proud of how hard these young ladies continue to improve at practice and games. They are learning the game the way it’s suppose to be played.

Our next game is at John Glenn on Thursday the 17th. Our next home game is against Maysville on Wednesday September 30th.

Jr. High girls traveled to Loundonville to take on the Red Birds on Saturday the 12th. This was a non-league game, a chance to play a team we would otherwise not play.

As soon as the game started, it began to rain…HARD! Playing in the rain adds to an additional challenge that the girls have not been faced with yet. The Red Birds were able to score on a corner kick early in the game, then added 1 more goal before the end of half off of a questionable handball in he box by the girl who shot the ball. This put the girls down 2/0 with plenty to play for. The 2nd half started off similar, where the Red Birds were able to get 2 quick goals making the score 4/0. About halfway through the 2nd half, there was some thunder that required us to call the game due to the 30 mins we were required to wait.

The loss brings our record to 2-3 on the season.

The Skins host Bishop Fenwick from Zanesville at Kids America; 6:00 pm, where we will work to get back on top.

Jr. High Girls hosted Philo Electrics on Wednesday September 9 at Kids America. The Lady Skins got off to a slow start giving up a goal pretty early in the 1st half off a corner kick. We were able to find our grove with better passing and field awareness ending the first half holding the Electrics to just one goal.

The 2nd half was more of the same intensity as we ended the first, tying the game early in the half with a beautiful goal from Cadence Watson off a nice pass from Taylin Hendershot. We remained tied until the 29th minute when Emma Hunt found the back of the net off a throw in from Cadence Watson.

The Skins defense showed up, only giving up the one goal; great effort from our defenders; Aubrey Searls, Allie Potts, Chloe Hunt, Londyn Riehl and Kira Bullock. Several of our 6th graders were able to see some playing time to contribute towards the win.

The coaches are excited to see the growth in the team as well as the development of the girls as the season progresses.

This weekend Jr. High Girls travel to Loudonville to take on the Redbirds at 10:00 am prior to the varsity.
