Check out The Bend Magazine 's September issue (online now) showing CCBMX some love!! We love the community support as we have always said about BMX here in our city:

Corpus is not missing interest, we are missing access‼️

We will keep everyone updated as we keep pushing forward but the wheels are still rolling in the right direction 🚲 and don't forget to pick up a printed issue of The Bend's September issue when it is out - it will be one to save!

Lawson who is a 2nd grader at Flour Bluff Primary, got his first 1st place tonight at Lone Star BMX! Yes he had to sign out of school early and drive 2.5 hours to get to the track, but that smile is worth it! This is why we love this sport right here 🥹

Here are some current photos with a quick update on where we stand with bringing a USA BMX sanctioned track back to CC:

* 🏁 Track design is 100% complete! The design phase is officially finished.
* 💰 We are currently in the funding phase, working to secure the money needed for construction.
* 📍 The track is located within Salinas Park off Greenwood Drive, near the ballparks.
* 🚧 The ballparks and parking lot are currently undergoing renovations, so there is a fence blocking access to the track.
* 🔓 Once the park renovations are complete, the area will open back up.
* 🌱 As you can see in these photos, the track itself still sits as an abandoned track, with grass growing over portions of it. The city has continued maintaining the area, though.
* 🤝 Our 501(c)(3) is in communication with Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation and USA BMX on a weekly basis as we work to identify funding opportunities.
* 🚀 Once funding is secured, we can move into the next phase: construction and bringing this track back to life!

We’re getting closer & we’re in it until we see it through! ❤️🏁

This photo came up today from 2023! When we first started working to bring the BMX track at Salinas Park back to life, we spent a lot of time out there just walking around, looking, & wondering what might still be left of what once was. At the time the track was completely overgrown and abandoned but if you looked closely, you could still find little pieces of its history buried beneath the dirt.

And then we found this.

Buried in the ground was a 3rd Place 2015 State Qualifier award. Just a small piece of metal, but to us it meant so much more. It was proof that this place had once been filled with kids racing, families cheering, dreams being chased and memories being made.

We had no idea that day just how long this journey would be or where it would lead us. We just knew that we didn’t want the history of this track to disappear.

Now, three years later, we’re still here working to bring BMX racing back to Corpus Christi. That little award we pulled from the dirt now hangs in our garage as a reminder to why we started. This isn’t just about rebuilding a track. It’s about bringing something back to our community that deserves another chance.

And we’re not done yet. 🏁

A look at H-Town BMX Gold Cup Qualifier yesterday ⚡️ I heard my drone get called out by the announcer but rest assured I followed all the rules by launching/ landing outside of the park and never once flying over the track, according to the city ordinance. It was only flown outside the park looking in 🤗 and good thing I have an amazing zoom 🙌🙌

I love the vision San Antonio had by turning a former landfill into Pearsall Park- one of our favorite pump tracks and biking trails to visit. This is indeed a destination spot for some including our family who have came up for a weekend and stayed at a nearby hotel just to go ride the pump track there.

This is a great source of inspiration of what community can accomplish when they come together 🙌

Aaron Ross is known around the world for his progressive riding, signature bike parts, & colorful style that helped shape modern BMX. But before the sponsorships, video parts, and international recognition, Aaron was just a kid racing BMX in Corpus Christi, Texas.

I am sharing this video again from this conversation at the Texas BMX Hall of Fame, where Aaron talks about how BMX racing was his introduction to the sport and how racing at the local track helped build the foundation for everything that came after.

Aaron is advocating for BMX racing to return to Corpus Christi so future generations can have the same opportunities that helped launch his own journey.

Whether you're a BMX racer, rider, parent, or fan of BMX history, this is a great look at where one of BMX's most influential riders got his start.

What are your memories of racing BMX in Corpus Christi? Let us know in the comments 🤗
