Raised on the Mats 🥋🥊
Alec & Roman 😄
These two are as tough as they are funny.
They train Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai together, cheer each other on, and bring out the best in each other in a way only brothers can.
They’re growing up learning how to work hard, take a hit, laugh it off, and keep going, side by side.
A bond like that only gets stronger on the mats. We love to see it. 💪

Congrats to Vince and Brandon on their fights today! Both bouts were officially ruled a draw, but the scorecards don’t fully reflect the performances they put on. Proud of the way they showed up, competed, and represented Imperial today. 👊🏅

Raised on the mats 👑
Many of you know Anthony and Lily💙 Anthony is a blue belt and Lily a grey/white, and he's been there, helping her learn every step of the way. While they love Jiu Jitsu, teaching it to his daughter comes from something deeper.
He knows the value of raising her with confidence, discipline, resilience, and the ability to protect herself. So he makes sure she’s learning those lessons early, with Dad right there beside her. 🥋❤️
For him, being a father means preparing her for the world, not shielding her from it.
Because one of the greatest things a father can give his daughter is the confidence to know she can handle whatever comes her way and some of those lessons start right here.
So when they’re on the mats together, he’s not just her training partner, he’s Dad. Teaching, correcting, encouraging, and making sure she understands what she’s capable of.
A proud father helping raise a strong, capable daughter. ❤️

Raised on the Mats 👑
Every family brings something different to the academy, and this one brings double the energy!
Meet Gene, a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, and his twin boys, Jackson and Theo. On the mats, they challenge one another, celebrate each other’s progress, and learn that success isn’t about competing against your teammate, it’s about helping each other become better.
For their dad, training is more than learning Jiu Jitsu. It’s an opportunity to spend meaningful time with his boys and help them learn lessons that extend far beyond technique and will be carried into everyday life.
Being raised on the mats is about growing up in a community that teaches respect, resilience, and the value of showing up even when something is difficult. Lessons that will last far beyond childhood.
Watching this family share the journey together is exactly what Raised on the Mats is all about. We’re grateful to have you as part of the Imperial family, and we look forward to seeing all three of you continue to grow together. 🥋

Raised on the Mats: The Next Generation 👑
We’re excited to kick off a new series highlighting the families who share the journey of martial arts together. From parents leading by example to children taking their very first steps onto the mats, these stories remind us that training is about more than learning techniques, it’s about building strong families, healthy habits, and lasting connections.
Jimmy has been training with us for several years and earned his Blue Belt under Professor Riley. This week, he got to share the mats with someone special, his daughter Amarrah, who joined us for her very first Jiu Jitsu class.
Studies have found that children are more likely to develop lifelong healthy habits when parents actively participate alongside them. Parents who lead by example have a powerful influence on how their children view exercise, discipline, and personal growth.
Youth sports and physical activity have also been linked to higher confidence, better social skills, improved emotional well-being, stronger leadership skills, and greater long-term participation in healthy activities. These are some of the reasons we love to see families train together at Imperial.
Welcome to the team, Amarrah. We’re excited to watch your journey begin.
